Destiny’s Fantasy, LLC shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Destiny’s, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
My business is for anyone who has a need for beauty in their lives, for special occasions, Halloween looks, or just fun events, I have contributed to team looks in High Schools for Winter Guard competing teams, and given back to my community in special ways. So many misunderstand my goals and believe my creativity is for stage performers only. but it is not, as weddings, debutant balls, photo shoots and formal events or conventions are on my radar in the future. This is not just about the Entertainment Industy, as the beauty industry is recession free and I am here to make you feel and look like a Queen!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Welcome to Destiny’s Fantasy LLC in 2025! It’s been an interesting and productive year and a half, since last being featured in May 2024. I am Destiny’s Fantasy, a sole proprietor and entrepreneur that has created a Brand and Style in the Entertainment Industry both in Miami, Orlando, and beyond. Presently, I must say, expanding is my goal. My business involves multiple aspects as a Licensed Cosmetologist, with my wigs and nails being featured in specialty acts and on local performers in the cities mentioned previously. That brand has even made it onto runways, least expected, more on that later. Within my expertise I returned to complete some academics to add more features and services, becoming a Full Specialist. An actor, I have always been! That doesn’t change my expertise, it simply allows for me to wear my products and showcase my Brand. And at that, I can proudly say, that I am not the only one wearing Destin 2 b Collections on World reknown stages, and well known television platforms, that they have been featured in.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My biological family saw my potential before I knew who I was as a creative artist. They had me doing hair and makeup on large parties such as wedding parties and debutant ball participants, starting at age 10, internationally. Wherever we traveled, I always had my tools of the trade on me, having to carry extra luggage to haul everything along, needless to say. My LGBTQ+ supportive family and friends really believed in me and encouraged me to seek my path in life. My mother guided me to safety in all aspects of my business, although she is not hired on, lol, and Team Destiny, is always there with me. They are known to bling bling costumes and garments, standing by stages to hand me props as stage assistants, they have coordinated my overnight stays in cities I have performed in and traveled with, as videographers, back stage helpers, etc. etc. etc.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
In thinking about life struggles and resilience, it struck me the most to answer this question, accordingly.
When I was younger from my early childhood years on, I would find myself thinking that I was hiding behind people’s shadows, almost feeling like I was not being seen, even feeling like “invisible” to society. Over time, I started realizing that I was a creator, artist, and visionary of my own making.
If I had the opportunity to say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be, to tell myself that there is something special and unique about me that will always shine through, eventually, in years to come.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I keep my closest contacts to my inner circle, on the low key, because they mean a lot to me when they do give me feedback of what is going on around us all. If I were to put my attention to how they see me or their input as to what really matters to me, I know they would answer that paying attention to detail and being a perfectionist, in all my business aspects, is up there on my list. I do believe this stands out in my creative work, whether performing, moving a crowd, or designing for my business. It’s important to uphold quality in my shows and in my client’s end product when my Brand is exhibited. I feel that when my values are on stage, on another entertainer, I am up there with them.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
Retirement is long off for me, is what I desire, but if I were ever to take a pause, I do believe that my clients and supporters/followers/fans would miss my creative outlooks and my inspiration provided to others. The peace that my soul provides in a genre of art that has so much diversity, equality, and inclusion is a reflection of my work, being supportive of entertainers that have needs for their beautiful acts. My artistic self and Brand provides just that. to them all. I strive to bring that respect to the industry as they attempt to perform just like I do in every aspect of the word.
