Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Carol Chenkin of Boca Raton, Florida

We recently had the chance to connect with Carol Chenkin and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Carol, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
There is no so-called “normal day” in my life, but in most cases, each day presents different challenges and opportunities. My marketing company, CLC Enterprises, currently has 12 fulltime clients working with a variety of sectors ranging from a commercial real estate company, non-profit organizations, celebrity entertainers, a law firm, and financial wealth management companies and more. This is in addition to my new venture that I started at the end of 2024 harnessing my passion of helping everyday women through my brand, “Carollee Calling,” which is continuing to grow and evolve. My typical day is never typical as I serve with my team to strive to give the highest level of service to my clients who have different goals, objectives, and needs that constantly change. In addition, I am a mother of two beautiful young ladies, a wife, and a dog mom of two needy but loving golden doodles pups.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Carol Lee Chenkin, also known online as “Carol Lee Calling”, I am a Boca Raton–based marketing and branding strategist with over 30 years of experience. I am the founder, president and managing partner of CLC Enterprises, a full-service marketing, branding, and business development agency that serves as the marketing arm of that serves a variety of business of different sizes, celebrity musicians like Joe Bonamassa and Dion, and several non-profit foundations.
I started a new brand Carol Lee Calling, where I curate lifestyle, beauty, fashion, and wellness content aimed at empowering women 40 and beyond. My messaging centers on confidence, self-expression, and feeling your best at any age
Through my blog and social media platforms—like Instagram, Facebook and TikTok—I share favorite beauty finds, wardrobe tips, personal reflections, and more, with an authentic voice. Through Carol Lee Calling I have been able to combine my corporate branding expertise with my passion for personal style and confidence-building, guiding my community—especially women over 40—to embrace their beauty, joy, and sense of self through thoughtful content and curated recommendations.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was driven by creativity, curiosity, and a genuine desire to connect with others. I always believed my role was to be behind the scenes—helping clients and others build their brands and success. I measured my ability to help others by how well I could support and elevate them. With age comes wisdom and knowledge which has allowed me now to I realize I can do what I do for others but also, I can step forward, share my voice and vision, and continue helping others in personal and impactful way—by leading by example and showing what’s possible.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most in my life has been putting myself first, whether that is in front of the camera and creating my own brand or saying no. For most of my adult life I found it rewarding to be a supporting role—helping others shine while staying in the background. But always having a burning desire that bubbled below the surface to share my beauty, fashion and lifestyle passion. But I’ve learned that playing it safe doesn’t serve anyone, including myself.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what matters to me is loyalty—showing up for the people I care about, especially when it counts the most. They’d say I value being dependable, the person who can be trusted to listen without judgment, to celebrate your wins, and stand by you during the hard times. They’d also say I care deeply about connection, authenticity, and making the people I love feel seen, supported, and encouraged to be their best selves.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people will say that I was loyal and unwavering—someone who showed up when it mattered most, not just in the easy moments but especially when times were tough. I hope they remember me as authentic, honest, and kind-hearted, never afraid to be real. I want to be known as the person who lifted others, who listened, helped, and stood by the people I loved without hesitation. Most of all, I hope I’m remembered as a loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister—someone who deeply cherished family and friendships and made the people in her life feel seen, valued, and cared for.
