Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with agathe bousquet of Miami

We’re looking forward to introducing you to agathe bousquet . Check out our conversation below.

Hi agathe , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I usually wake up quite early, and I love dedicating that quiet moment to myself. It’s a precious time to slow down, feel grateful for the day ahead, and practice meditation — something I discovered recently and that brings me a deep sense of calm.
I also love cooking, so breakfast is always a moment of joy and creativity. After that, I settle at my desk to plan my day and dive into my projects.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Agathe, founder of The Undertropic, a beach-lifestyle accessories brand I created to celebrate craftsmanship, authenticity, and the beauty of slow living. After many years between France and Usa Miami , I felt the urge to design pieces that embody both a sense of travel and timeless elegance.

The Undertropic offers handwoven baskets and pouches made from natural materials, finished with refined details. Each piece tells a story of sun, sea, and escape, while remaining versatile enough for everyday life. What makes the brand unique is this blend of traditional craftsmanship with a modern, chic spirit—a balance between authenticity and style.

Beyond the products, The Undertropic represents a warm, sunlit, and natural universe that connects women to moments of freedom, lightness, and beauty. Right now, I’m working on growing the brand through select multi-brand boutiques and concept stores, while also strengthening our online presence to bring that spirit directly to our community.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
I was born into a fashion family — my uncle created and owned the brand Cacharel — so I grew up surrounded by stores and collections, especially alongside my mother. From an early age, I understood that working is part of gaining freedom, and that work can also be a source of pleasure. That’s something I’ve always tried to weave into my own life and into what I create today.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It taught me that failure is part of the process — not something to feel discouraged by, but a chance to learn. Every setback brings strength and helps you discover your own limits in a positive way. For me, always pushing myself to do my best is a daily challenge, and that challenge is what inspires me

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
’ve always admired women, both in my family and beyond, who stand up for themselves and speak with their own voice. Following your true desires to create the life you want—rather than the one others expect for you—has always been a strong value for me.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel at peace in nature, whether I’m surrounded by people I love or enjoying quiet moments alone in a relaxing space. Dinners with friends and a good laugh bring me a sense of harmony, just as much as meditation outdoors—especially by the ocean. For me, the ultimate moment of peace is waking up and watching the sunrise on the beach.
