Good morning Laelanie , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I love spending time at the gym; it brings me a sense of relaxation and helps me clear my thoughts when I’m on my fitness routine. It is something that I’m doing lately, and I just love to follow a healthy path that is great for my body and mind. Also, walking near the beach or any outdoor place gives me joy and at the same time creativity when I have a connection with our natural surroundings!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m an abstract artist based in Miami that loves creating colorful nautical paintings with imaginary costal landscapes that bring me joy and creativity when I’m creating an abstract artwork. I was born in Honduras a beautiful country with gorgeous landscapes that gave me a lot of inspiration behind my artistic career that began at a young age. I remember my first oil painting is a beautiful landscape with magical jungles around tall green trees, butterflies and waterfalls falling from the mountains that capture the beauty of our natural surroundings. At a young age I always have a fascination with the art world and therefore I decided to continue with my journey on creating unique oil paintings with imaginary landscapes that reflects my Hispanic heritage and love for the ocean.
My dream was always to be a gallery owner and sell all my oil paintings directly to art buyers that love my unique contemporary and abstract paintings! I’m happy to say that I own Laelanie Art Gallery, and it was something that I had in mind since I was a little girl back in Honduras. My art gallery “Laelanie Art Gallery” only sells my own artwork with free shipping inside the United States and same day delivery in Florida. All my paintings are originals and hand painted with the finest oils on canvas along with tropical colors that I love using while I’m painting at my fine art studio.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I always have faith in my artistic career that started at a young age, as mentioned before I began painting with oils and charcoal my inspiring landscapes that shape my creativity and helped me get into art contest during that time in Honduras. That gave ma a lot of motivation to continue my journey into the art industry and pursuing my dream in Miami on becoming the CEO of Laelanie Art Gallery and continue creating colorful oil paintings that brings me memories of my childhood in Honduras. Another early memory that made me powerful was when I did my first art exhibition at Art Basel, I was excited to do my solo art exhibition and it was a beautiful moment that gave me a lot of motivation and inspiration in my oil paintings.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, I did experience a time when I wanted to give up… when that happened, I began a new art collection and believe in my artwork. I did not let the obstacles control my feelings because that is not part of my character, I do have a strong temperament and therefore I do not let negativity affect my inspiration when I’m creating a painting.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
I’m a super genuine and what you see in the public from me that is all the real thing, I’m an artist that is 100% committed to the art industry and I just love to spend all my time painting, it brings me a sense of relaxation and connection with our universe.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I believed in my artwork and each painting was always created with a beautiful story along with a lot of effort invested during my career. I’m proud to say that I did everything alone without the help of anybody and I was able to showcase my unique oil paintings to various art collectors that love my dedication I put behind each painting. I did everything with a lot of love and faith in my artwork.
