Kathustra Lalanne of Pembroke Pines on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Kathustra Lalanne and have shared our conversation below.

Kathustra, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I start my mornings with meditation and a cup of hot tea, setting the tone for a focused and intentional day. I take a few moments to visualize how I want the day to unfold before heading to the gym for a workout. After training, I refuel with a nourishing breakfast.

From there, I meet with my team to review our weekly plans and align on priorities. I also check emails and social media, connect with potential clients, and engage with our community. At times, I go live to share updates and promote our products. Finally, I package and drop off orders at the post office, ensuring our clients receive their timely items.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kathustra, the visionary founder of Sabine Essential. With a degree in finance and a cosmetic formulation license. My journey has been filled with both achievements and lessons, each shaping the mission behind Sabine Essential. Our brand is dedicated to creating all-natural, organic hair care solutions for Afro-textured hair, crafted from the potent essence of plants, roots, and proteins—without harmful chemicals. Understanding the diversity of hair types and the unique challenges our clients face, we’ve carefully designed a product line that caters to specific needs, helping individuals grow, strengthen, and embrace their natural hair with confidence.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I have always stayed true to myself, and through the world, my studies, and my experiences, that belief in who I am has only grown stronger.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
In 2014, I faced a pivotal moment when I was diagnosed with myoma a sizable mass in my uterus that left me feeling helpless. As if that weren’t enough, I also struggled with severe hair loss, which weighed heavily on my confidence and sense of vitality.

After countless failed attempts with different hair products. I immersed myself in research, studying natural ingredients and methods. This journey of exploration led me to create a unique formulation that restored life to my hair, strengthening and revitalizing it from the roots.

But my transformation didn’t stop there. To heal from myoma, I made intentional changes to my lifestyle, improving my diet and replacing harmful foods and cosmetic products with healthier alternatives. Through this process, I not only nurtured my physical health but also laid the foundation for what would eventually become Sabine Essential.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends understand how deeply Sabine Essential means to me, and they’ve witnessed firsthand the positive impact our products have had on their own hair and their children’s. Their encouragement and love fuel my passion, reminding me to keep moving forward with the mission of helping the world achieve healthier hair.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I’m gone, I hope the story they tell is of a Melanated woman who faced the challenge of myoma, found healing through her own journey, and used her voice to empower other women. A woman who encouraged others to avoid harmful cosmetic products that can damage their health, cause hair loss, and even contribute to fertility issues.
