Juan Rivera’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

Juan Rivera shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Juan, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day consist of: using the restroom, take a shower, dress up to get ready for work, drink a cup of water and some coffee. I need coffee shortly after I wake up in order to function properly or else by the afternoon I will have a killer headache and those are no fun.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Juan and I am at the moment an independent music artist. I go by JTA. R, I love to write and record music and have taken that passion into doing it professionally to include this year expanding overseas. I am 34 years old at this time and I am my own promoter as well as my own manager. What makes my music special is that I take my time with each beat and listen to it until I can feel it talking to me telling me what to write. Currently I am working on releasing new content across all my platforms for this upcoming year with more exposure in every aspect so people know who JTA. R is and where he comes from.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I would have to say this moment would have been when my grandmother kicked me out of her house at the age of 16 and I had to fend for myself. This feeling of independence made me feel more powerful than anything else in life as I was able to do what was needed to become successful without being held back.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Knowledge is power and power is key. The more a person learns on a day to day basis the more he can do with his life to become successful. The most powerful people that have walked on earth have all been Knowledgeable.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes it is. I don’t change or switch up characters based on the people I’m surrounded by or the environment I’m in at any given time. I stay real to who I am and have always said that people should be themselves no matter what other people think or say about you. In the end you are your own biggest fan.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
When I am listening to music I am one with myself and peace comes instantly. Other times I like to take my boat out and go fishing to find peace as well.
