Jayson Benjamin shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Jayson, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I feel proud when a customer gets denied for something small, and I go the extra mile to make it work. When they tell me they’re forever grateful, that moment always makes me proud.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
The last time I was interviewed, I was a Realtor talking about becoming a broker and opening my own office. Now, I’m actually in the process of making it happen. It’s exciting to see the vision coming to life and to build something that reflects my passion for real estate and helping people reach their goals.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My parents told me I have that je ne sais quoi. My parents and grandparents saw something in me before I did. Real estate and brand building run in my family, my parents have been in it since the ’90s. My brother and I grew up in that world, learning the business at a young age.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Giving up is never an option. You ask for help when you need it and take things step by step, never bite off more than you can handle.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
I rely most on my parents and brother. They’re honest, God-fearing people, and I’ve learned my values and morals from them.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Yes, I’m following my path. From Realtor to Broker Associate, I’m now opening my own brokerage before 30, naming it after my family.
