Isaac Rendon shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Isaac, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I believe finances in this field is such a huge weight when getting into any part of any project. You’re rewarded with mistakes & errors you’ve learned along the way and the journey with either solo or with a team around you but sometimes the budget doesn’t meet you there as well. So sometimes you overlook your performance for a quick cash grab. I know I had a few of those in my time before, to make ends meet. I wouldn’t recommend it, slow burnout for sure but I understand you do what you gotta.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Sure! What makes me unique is raw and authentic approach I bring to the table with my clients or business; My portfolio shows it. So I’m in a position where that work has put me in places to mimic the same mood & tone. Word of mouth is still very evident in my career where I’ve been trusted to elevate brand look with this tool at hand, whether that’s filming, editing or both!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
While in my early teens it felt as if the people I knew and knew along the way have written this future for me (My purpose, goals, status) I got to a point in my life where I was just a wanderer (in my 20s), some would say a lost wanderer. While that may have been true I at the time same time was overlooking the skills I have had for years that could really put me in a place with people today to be a blessing and also be blessed with my services and skills. I honestly wouldn’t know where I would have been now if I hadn’t taken this choice and pursue this career.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Most def! The pressure doesn’t stop but one thing I did learned along the way is you need this pressure if you’re going to be the person you weren’t and wanting to become all along. Imposter syndrome will never go away, I don’t care who tells you otherwise; but the beauty of it is you have an opportunity to navigate and push through that moment and really make choices you’ve never have done before. Next thing you know “poof” you’re on the other side of the momentum and able to look back with ease and just laugh it off, with a bit more confidence, and a bit more guidance.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
yes, but I do have a social battery, So I need to make sure where to navigate it and how to use it. So it stretches out for however long it takes until I’m safe back into my place of peace, recharge, “Zen” whatever that place is for you, definitely important.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Stop worrying about the thing’s I’m attach to. It takes so much out of your day, it’s like a vampire that slowly drains you out. Your focus doesn’t become the thing it was at first sight but now what’s stating the obvious in your mind. Keep pushing, you’re bound to be where you need to be, Enjoy the process and keep pushing on, Be present about it, intentionally.
