Inspiring Conversations with Yashika George of Profound Faith Womans Mentorship Program

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yashika George.

Hi Yashika, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born here in Miami, FL. I am the last child of four boys. I was a prayer answered to my mom. My father is from Dominica & my mother is from Jamaica. I grew up in a loving family, my father worked for the city of Miami and my mother worked as a nurse, I have watched my parents strive and work hard to get the things that they have now, they taught me if you want something you must work hard and never give up to get it. I remember the days my father would teach me our father prayer every night before bed. But I also remember our family game nights, barbecues every weekend where all of the kids in our neighborhood would come and get hot dogs and burgers, especially during hurricane season. We had no power but a generator to play grand theft auto and a grill to make all of our meals. Growing up with brothers, you just follow what you see. So I played just like them & fought just like them because that’s all I knew. But inside, I loved everything pink. There were things that I wanted to do but my dad would tell me no because I’m a girl. I used to get so angry then because I didn’t understand, now as a young woman I truly understand why he was that way with me.

Growing up especially as a teen, I was so lost as an individual I looked for love in all of the wrong places. Going from relationship to relationship, being a victim of bullying, it’s like I had no Identity. But then everything changed. In April of 2011, I gave my life to God not knowing what was waiting down the path ahead. My brother was shot seven times while coming off of the highway and a bullet pierced his lung. When I heard the news, I immediately began to pray and had faith that God would save my brother’s life and he did. After one month, the doctors kept saying he wouldn’t be out of the hospital for a long while. But I prayed every single day and just had so much faith that he would be out before his birthday. Can you imagine it’s my senior year of high school. I should be celebrating this huge accomplishment. Instead, I would go straight to the hospital to care for him, sleep there and wake up early for school the next morning. One day after school I went home to pack more clothes to stay in the hospital, when I opened the front door I see my mom coming in with the balloons he had in the hospital, when I continued to look I see my brother out of the hospital two days before his birthday. Faith can really move mountains. From that day, I have walked in faith and through that with countless of testimonies of who I am and who I’m continuing to become today. A woman of profound faith.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road definitely has not been an easy one, I encountered different challenges along the way. Starting from almost failing classes in high school causing me to nearly not graduate, to failing courses in nursing school and staying an extra year. But in every failure, there’s always a gift waiting at the end of it. One year in college I failed about three courses because I couldn’t understand anything, well I didn’t have the best professors at that time and struggled to keep up. But completing that extra year retaking those courses, there was new professors and a new dean. Then suddenly everything clicked. Sometimes a setback will always have a greater comeback. With constant encouragement from my Dad and prayer, I was the first to graduate college with my Nursing degree in my household and on graduation day, I received the Presidents award. Thinking back to the year I failed I probably would have never gotten to accomplish the things that I needed to if I hadn’t done that extra year of nursing school. Again another moment when my faith was tested. Sometimes you will always have to work harder then some to achieve your goals. It may seem like nothing is going to work for you. But right at the door is a blessing waiting on the other side. I’m glad I did not quit while the road got really tough. I hope you don’t either.

We’ve been impressed with Profound Faith Womans Mentorship Program, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the founder of Profound faith’s women’s mentorship program. I help women from all over the world build up their relationship with God and learn how to walk in faith through one on one and group mentoring. With free monthly group sessions and meet-ups.

In the Profound faith woman’s mentorship program women will learn that Faith and hope are one of the keys to receiving their breakthrough. Some woman have prayers that have not come to pass, Wondering when will God answer their prayers. But what they do not know is that there are keys that they have not taken up that has been freely given to them in order for those prayers to be answered.

I am a living testimony of God answering my prayers through obtaining those keys. I have discovered that many woman have been praying the wrong way or they don’t know how to pray effectively and consistently to obtain the things that their heart desires. The number one concern on the hearts of the woman that has followed me is “When will they be married?” The man that God said was for me has left or we are separated and believing God for a miracle” I have personally witnessed friends and family be blessed through guidance and effective prayers. one of my friends recently reached out to me, thanking me and telling me their testimony of how God brought back their man of God. It has filled my heart with joy seeing woman become so blessed. I can’t wait for the more countless testimonies that will soon come from you.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The quality and characteristics that I feel is most important to my success is # 1 God, My faith and trust in him has kept me grounded. My Spiritual parents, their constant prayers and guidance have truly been such a blessing in my life. I thank God for them everyday. And my parents, seeing how hard that they have worked my Dad retired and enjoying his life with my mom building their next home and with three businesses keeps me going to achieve all of my goals.
