Today we’d like to introduce you to Yamil Meluk.
Hi Yamil, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a Colombian immigrant living in Miami. I moved to Miami in 2018 from Medellin, Colombia. It has always been my dream to come to America, and I wanted to make a huge change and take a risk that I knew was an opportunity that would not come again.
Most of my friends at home thought I was crazy, but I knew in my heart it was the right thing to do to pursue my dream. During my time in Miami, I have experienced the lowest of lows and the highest of highs. I used my personal training experience of 11 years in Colombia to catapult here and transition into the fashion world, which has always lighted up my eyes.
That was also the beginning of my career journey as an influencer and an entrepreneur working on his own clothing line. I am yet to release my first pieces but have been working on my company Out of Touch, whenever I am not filming or taking photos. I am also passionate about photography, and used that passion to grow my Instagram and social media following, working with many fashion brands and producing high quality content.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been easy but it has always been beautiful. I used every opportunity to develop my mindset and think from a long-term perspective because I knew I needed years to get on my feet and get better. Along with reading many books on mindset and self development, my own experience has always been my best teacher.
I started off here using my Personal Training expertise to train clients in Miami and earn income to survive. After some time, when I was able to save, I began to invest in myself and get a camera. Step by step, I am here now where I have my company launching, my social media thriving, and my life is where I envisioned it to be before I even left Colombia.
I have been blessed to have smooth moments along the way and ease, through the beautiful people I met here who have helped me and become like family along the way.

Out of Touch LLC Is a streetwear clothing brand that is designed and manufactured out of LA, because when I was in Colombia I always dreamed of having a brand that was out of LA.
It is not easy to create clothing from scratch that people will like, but I love it so much when I see something that looks dope and fit people well and I love spending my time creating that. There’s something about it that really fuels me and I love learning the business side of it along the way.
