Today we’d like to introduce you to Vlad Cazacu
Hi Vlad, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was originally born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, and moved to the United States at the age of 18. From a young age I was fascinated by entrepreneurship and technological innovation. I have built a career in VC working at firms across New York, Austin, and Miami. This allowed me to get a first row seat to many incredible founders building tomorrow’s companies. A few years ago, I felt that I have identified an opportunity to innovate and make our mark on the industry and decided to start Flowlie with my co-founder. The rest is history.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a newcomer to this country in pursuit of academic opportunities and a brighter tomorrow, I found myself immersed in an entirely new landscape. Learning to bridge cultural differences, master an unfamiliar language, and establish myself in this foreign environment showed me what it truly means to stay determined and resilient. That foundation built a thick skin and a strong emotional endurance but nothing would’ve prepared me for the role of a founder. As an entrepreneur, I probably made all the mistakes I could’ve made and then some more. There were days when life was great and others when it seemed tomorrow may never come. The process of starting a new business from scratch was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Flowlie is an innovative software platform revolutionizing how founders and CEOs approach their fundraising journey. Our impact has been substantial, helping over 3,000 founders secure more than $500 million in funding while saving each of them an estimated 40-60 hours per month on fundraising tasks—time that can be reinvested into core business operations. What sets Flowlie apart is our unique access to real-time market insights and data, a competitive advantage gained through our deep integration with founder workflows.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am a huge fan of the Acquired podcast and their company deep-dives. I consider myself a good student of history and strongly believe that by researching what others have done we can find the inspiration for what can be done next. For industry information, I usually follow the 20VC and the SaaStr podcasts. I also do my own podcasting with The VC Architects and The Fundraising Debrief.
