Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Cartin.
Hi Stephanie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I met my business partner, Courtney Spritzer, in 2010 through a mutual friend and we started our social media agency, Socialfly, on the side of our full-time jobs.
The two of us knocking on doors of startup businesses and offering our services soon grew into a full-service agency that has worked with over 300 brands. We walked away from our corporate careers in 2012 to focus on Socialfly full-time and really bring our vision to life.
We then started Entreprenista because women were reaching out to us every week to grab a coffee and pick our brains to learn from our experience. We quickly realized that if we were to get coffee with every Entreprenista that reached out to us, we wouldn’t have time to run our businesses.
We started to think about how we could help as many women as possible and not just share our story over and over again but share all of the stories of women founders and leaders who have so much insight and advice to share with these women who need it. This is when we decided to start The Entreprenista Podcast in November of 2018.
Our podcast has now evolved into a full media company, podcast network, and membership community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting and growing a business is never easy and we have had many challenges along the way but have always been able to learn from our mistakes (or, as we call them, learning lessons!).
One challenge I remember from early on in our agency business is receiving a cease and desist letter from a company with a similar name. This roadblock at the start of our entrepreneurial journey was intense, but it forced us to rethink our brand and led us to change our company name to Socialfly.
One of the most important lessons we have learned is not to put so much pressure on ourselves. We always say all you can do is the best you can do, each day! This mantra keeps us motivated and dedicated to giving our all every day, never letting minor setbacks get in the way of our success.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Entreprenista Media?
Entreprenista’s mission is to empower women business owners by celebrating and sharing stories while creating a community that cultivates meaningful connections, support, and access to resources.
Our media company comprises The Entreprenista League, a digital membership community, and a media platform, which is home to The Entreprenista Podcast Network, hosting shows The Entreprenista Podcast and Startups in Stilettos among others that are coming soon.
Our community is known for helping women founders and leaders make meaningful business connections that lead to partnerships, funding, and continuing business education. This past year, I was able to make an introduction to an Entreprenista in our community that led to over $1.5 million in funding in her Series A.
There is nothing better than seeing the connections and results these women are having as a result of being part of our community.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Best: the community. We recently hosted our first IRL Entreprenista event at The Moon Miami and loved every second of connecting with the Miami community of women business owners!
Least: Summer humidity but hey, I will take it as winters are amazing!
Pricing:
