Inspiring Conversations with Rebecca Lenard of All Smiles Pediatric Dentistry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Lenard

Hi Rebecca , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I always dreamed of being a dentist! Along side a short stint of dreaming to be a figure skater….taking a few lessons and realizing Miami wasn’t the best for a cold-sported career, I set my heart fully on dentistry. I had a great pediatric dentist, Dr. Webman, when I was a child and he ended up mentoring me throughout my education and early part of my career (until he passed away in 2017). I even got to work with him in group practice from 2014-2017 (again , until he passed).

When I was younger, I used to wiggle my siblings teeth out and play dentist. I used the bathtub as my dental chair, gloved up with ziploc bags and would do the job. To me, being a dentist was fascinating – how did the body know to loosen up baby tooth? How cool is it that the grownup tooth was just waiting in the wings to come in at the appropriate time?

I kept in touch with Dr. Webman through college, dental school and residency – he guided me along with the way and challenged me to think outside the box of traditional education , diagnosis and treatment planning. I attended Barnard College, majoring in Neuroscience and Behavior while still forging on my pre-dental track. I got accepted and attended University of Florida College of Dentistry, spending 4 years in Gainesville , Florida. I then specialized in pediatric dentistry at University of Florida, Naples Florida from 2012,2014 , serving as chief resident in my final year of training.

I worked in group practice from 2014-2020 in South Miami. I then opened my own practice, All Smiles Pediatric Dentistry in 2020. I built a new, state of the art office in Coral Gables which is where I get to treat my amazing patient families today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a long road, working hard to achieve this plan and deciding to open my own practice.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about All Smiles Pediatric Dentistry?
We treat children of all ages, from newborn to college students. We are proud to give the utmost care to our patients. We strive to give patients and parents the time they deserve to understand the state of their child’s oral health, explaining and educating along the way.

“At All Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, we provide the best care so parents can have complete confidence in our ability and our methods, while simultaneously making sure children are relaxed, comfortable, and having a fun time.”

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Lucky that I got to spend time with Dr. Webman, practicing alongside him and learning him for years as a child, student and eventually a practicing dentist.

Hard work and passion has led me here with support from my mentors, family and friends.
