Inspiring Conversations with Mila Morris of Decima Stem Cells

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mila Morris.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Early on, I set out to build stability.

I lost my mother in a plane crash when I was young (my whole family was in)- I shattered my femur. Experiencing that kind of instability early wires you differently. I became very focused on understanding systems… how they work, how they fail, and how to build them stronger. That mindset has shaped everything I’ve done.

My first exposure to business was sitting in on strategy conversations with my parents while they were building a multi-state law firm. I learned early that stability isn’t something you inherit actually it’s something you construct. You recruit talent, you build infrastructure, and you create value in community.

In 2020, I designed and built my first home in Joshua Tree. I taught myself the architectural and development process from the ground up. That project landed on the cover of Architectural Digest Italia and became The Space Program which is a design-forward property platform built around high-intent spaces and premium gatherings. It taught me that I can identify demand before it’s obvious and execute at a high level.

At the same time, I was dealing with long-term physical injuries and navigating the healthcare system as a patient. I became really frustrated with how medicine is all symptom based and also the lack of transparency in longevity care. That frustration turned into research, and that research turned into Decima … a longevity and restorative medicine center focused on advanced stem cell therapies and neuroregenerative protocols.

Decima operates internationally to access the most advanced cellular technologies available. It’s built around measurable biological performance: stronger joints, improved cognition, tissue repair… less so just cosmetic outcomes. We’ve validated real demand in a market that is only growing.

Through building Decima, I saw the larger opportunity: diagnostics and data. That became XLD, Inc. XLD is focused on identifying molecular and proteomic drivers of aging – particularly in female biology…and developing diagnostic systems that allow us to intervene earlier and more precisely in cardiometabolic aging pathways.

The long-term vision is infrastructure. Not a single clinic. Not a single product. But more so a platform that integrates diagnostics, clinical application, and scalable delivery in one of the largest and fastest-growing markets globally: aging and longevity.

Across everything I’ve built, the common thread is systems thinking and disciplined execution.

I think a bit of my life experience gave me a sense of urgency. But building companies gave me structure. What I’m building now combines both and it’s designed for long term.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all.

If anything, the common thread has been learning to operate inside uncertainty.

Losing my mother early forced me to grow up fast. There wasn’t a long runway for figuring things out slowly… I learned to make decisions, take responsibility, and keep moving even when things felt unstable. That resilience has helped, but it also meant I was often building without a safety net.

Professionally, I’ve built in spaces that aren’t easy. Architecture as a self-taught female developer. Regenerative medicine, which sits at the edge of regulation and public understanding. Biotechnology, which requires deep science, long timelines, and serious capital. None of those industries reward impatience or ego. They definitely all test your discipline.

There have been financial swings. Projects that required more capital than expected. Legal complexity. Regulatory navigation. Hiring the right scientists. Protecting intellectual property. Learning how to raise capital in rooms where I didn’t look like the typical founder. All of that is real.

But struggle is not a detour for me – It’s structural stress testing. Every constraint forces clarity. Every setback sharpens the model and somewhere in between there is fate.

so no, it hasn’t been smooth, but it has been intentional. And I think that matters more.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Decima Stem Cells?
Decima is a longevity and restorative medicine center built around one core belief: biology can be measured and improved.

We specialize in advanced stem cell therapies, neuroregenerative protocols, and performance-based longevity medicine. Our focus is functional outcomes like stronger joints, improved cognition, tissue repair, reduced inflammation, and measurable recovery markers. We are built around cellular performance.

What sets Decima apart is discipline and access.

We operate internationally because the most advanced cellular technologies are not always accessible in one place. We work with highly screened cell sources and regenerative medicine physicians who prioritize safety, data, and measurability. We stay away from aged, fat derived cells and focus on the cell types that show consistent, safe, and measurable results.

We are also extremely transparent about who we treat and who we don’t. We are not for everyone. We don’t overpromise. We don’t sell miracles. We focus on patients who are candidates for real regenerative response and we communicate clearly about expectations.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that 99% of our investment goes into the quality of the cells and the science, not the waiting room. Clients often say they feel like they found something rare…not flashy, but powerful.

What I want readers to understand is this: Decima is about extending function and autonomy, repairing damage before it becomes permanent. It’s about giving people back capability… whether that’s cognitive sharpness, mobility, or resilience.

Longevity is around to stay, we are apart of the infrastructure. And we are building it carefully.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
People sometimes assume I’m a risk-taker because I build in complex industries ,,, and because I love rally and off-road racing. But what those things have in common isn’t adrenaline as much as it is precision.

In racing, you don’t survive by being reckless. You survive by understanding terrain, mechanics, timing, and your own limits. Business feels similar to me. I’m actually very measured. But I do have a high tolerance for responsibility. Risk is about deciding that you’re willing to be accountable for the outcome.

I’ve taken risks that required putting my own capital, reputation, and time on the line before there was external validation. I’ve stepped into industries where the barrier to entry is high and the scrutiny is real. I’ve chosen to build in spaces that take years, not months, to mature.

My framework is simple:

Is the problem real and growing?

Do I have unique positioning or access?

Can I survive the downside if it takes longer than expected?

If those three conditions are met, I move.

I also think people misunderstand risk. Staying comfortable can be the biggest risk of all. Not building something because it’s hard is a slow erosion. I would rather take a disciplined leap toward a meaningful opportunity than slowly shrink inside something safe but small.

That said, I don’t glamorize struggle. I believe in structure. I believe in cash flow. I believe in hiring people smarter than me in the areas that matter. That’s how you turn risk into something strategic instead of emotional. and at the end of the day…it definitely is never about luck… I think its about preperation, timing, and honestly… endurance. I’m willing to be patient enough to see long arcs play out.
