Inspiring Conversations with Marisela Leon of KBG FITNESS LIFE

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marisela Leon

Hi Marisela, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
“I have been passionate about sports for over 15 years. I started with marathons and triathlons, and after moving to Miami and not knowing anyone, I began connecting with a new community through exercise. At first, I helped many people learn how to train for free, then I created a running group that I coached as a hobby, and eventually, they asked me to provide strength training, which kept growing. Later, I started a group for teenage girls focused on physical conditioning, and today that has become KBG Life, a method which people improve their quality of life through exercise. Now we have runners, fitness classes for adult women, and for teenage girls. What started as an individual passion has turned into a business that promotes the well-being and integral health of the community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Maintaining motivation throughout the year is one of the most important challenges, considering that we train outdoors and that summer in Miami is humid and hot. Additionally, the groups change; people come and go. Keeping the morale of a group high over a long period of time requires a lot of effort, especially since when people leave and return, the dynamics and personality of the group in general change. It’s a continuous adaptation and adjustment to changes that we cannot control

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Lessons Learned as a Fitness Coach

1. Adaptability is Key:
Every client is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. Being flexible and willing to adjust training plans based on individual needs and circumstances is crucial.

2. *lCommunity Matters:
Building a supportive community can significantly enhance motivation and commitment. When people feel connected, they are more likely to stick with their fitness journey.

3. Consistency Over Perfection:
It’s not about being perfect in every workout or diet choice. Consistency is what leads to long-term results. Encouraging clients to focus on sustainable habits rather than short-term perfection is essential.

4. Empathy and Understanding:
Recognizing the challenges clients face both physically and emotionally helps build trust. Being empathetic allows you to support them more effectively.

5. Celebrate Progress:
Every small victory matters. Celebrating achievements, no matter how minor, can boost confidence and motivation, reinforcing the importance of progress over perfection.
