Inspiring Conversations with Marina Barone of The Voice Curator

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marina Barone.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Unlike the typical expectation of picking one career path, I’ve had three, and all of them were born out of a desire to remedy something. 1) Nutritionist, 2. Conflict Coach, 3) Voice Coach.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Life, like mountains, is challenging to traverse, with ridges, bumps, and many dips along the way. Without them, we would never be able to climb to the top.

My childhood was emotionally intense with a violent and drunk father, seven siblings, and all crammed into one tiny room with eight beds. We shared a house with fifteen people and one toilet. We had no bathroom and had to wash in the sink or bucket until I was eleven. Imagine my joy when we moved, and I experienced my first shower! Ultimately, my challenging past gave me what I needed to become the fulfilled woman I am today.

As I mentioned, my three careers came from a desire to resolve an issue.

For my first fifteen years, I was covered in Psoriasis and had to lather on coal-tar cream to go to school. I hated the strong smell ( like Tarmac) and felt embarrassed. The doctors said I’d have it for life, and there was no cure. This led me on a quest to find a solution. I read everything I could find on nutrition, and ultimately studied it after curing my Psoriasis in just six months on a plant-based diet! I enjoyed helping clients reverse their ailments with diet, and became an expert in cleansing, raw foods, and how to thrive on a whole-food diet.

Changing my lifestyle opened me up to a deeper search. One for meaning, and the other to learn how to navigate the repetitive challenges I faced in my relationships with men. I was a product of my parents’ war, and without the tools to navigate conflict healthily. I knew drama, fighting, and never trusted love. Frustrated and hopeless, I searched for a better way. I went to endless relationship seminars, studied solution-focused therapy, Radical Honesty, and learned countless psychological methods before figuring out a faster, more effective way to get from pissed off back to peace.

Recognizing I was the creator and solution to my own suffering has been the greatest gift to my life. I felt compelled to share my triumph and help others welcome conflict, showing them a fast and infallible way back to peace and relationship harmony with “The Happy Mind Method.” Remember, no matter how hard your relationship seems, and how hopeless you feel about it ever changing, trust me. With the right tools, honesty, and a desire to get back to loving each other, you’ll get rapid results that will last a lifetime.

Coaching Leaders, couples, and celebrities around the world took up a tremendous amount of time, and so, when I was 32, I decided to take up a hobby that scared the hell out of me. Singing! As a kid, I was self-conscious about my Psoriasis, and I was chubby! Suffice it to say, I avoided standing out and engaging in theater or music.

At my first lesson, I burst into tears because I felt so vulnerable, exposed, and…seen. I felt alive in a whole new way & studied every aspect of voice, and neurosensory technologies ( The Tomatis Method ), to have a parallel career coaching singing and powerful speaking, and I love every minute of it. I’m known as “The Voice Curator” in the world of music and theater.

We’ve been impressed with The Voice Curator, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I love systems that solve problems! Because I discovered singing later in life, I had to figure out how to build power and range quickly. I studied with the best in the business and was not impressed. I used my laser-sharp focus to weed out the time-wasting crap, developing a vocal method that can skyrocket any singer’s voice into the stratosphere in a very short time, and turn a vanilla public speaker into a dynamic and exciting storyteller.
