Inspiring Conversations with Laura of Hora Miami magazine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m originally from Argentina, but from a young age I knew I would eventually live abroad. I ultimately settled in Florida, where I have worked as a real estate agent in Miami for the past 22 years, specializing in assisting international clients—particularly investors and buyers looking for a second or third home in the city.
While I speak English, Portuguese, and Spanish, the majority of my real estate clients are Spanish speakers. Over the years, I realized that my role extended far beyond the real estate transaction itself. I often became a trusted local resource, offering recommendations on restaurants, furniture stores, weekend getaways, local boutiques, and unique lifestyle experiences throughout Miami.
Because I have always been passionate about writing and communication, I launched Hora Miami in 2013 as an online blog where I shared my personal recommendations and experiences related to Miami’s lifestyle scene in Spanish.
Today, Hora Miami allows me to connect with both my real estate clients and a broader audience. Through the magazine, we have established trust not only with our readers but also with our advertisers, who value our authentic voice and carefully curated recommendations. We are not interested in featuring already well-known personalities. Instead, our focus is on showcasing local and international makers, creatives, and passionate individuals.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Although nowadays, most people believe print is dead, we continue to publish and distribute our print magazine throughout more than 300 residential buildings across South Florida, including Sunny Isles Beach, Bal Harbour, Surfside, Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, Brickell, Edgewater, Aventura, and many other neighborhoods. While Hora Miami also has a digital edition, a website, and a growing social media presence, we believe there is still tremendous tangible value in a beautifully produced print publication that reaches readers directly in the communities where they live.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Hora Miami magazine ?
As an active real estate agent, I have had the privilege of witnessing Miami’s remarkable transformation over the past two decades. I have seen new neighborhoods emerge, iconic developments reshape the skyline, and the city’s culinary, cultural, and lifestyle scenes flourish into what they are today. Miami has evolved into a truly global destination, attracting people, businesses, and investment from around the world. That evolution inspired the name Hora Miami, reflecting a time when the city and state stepped into a new era of growth, sophistication, and global recognition.

How do you define success?
Today, success to me is waking up happy and excited about the day ahead, whether that means showing properties to clients or traveling to a new destination for a media assignment with Hora Miami magazine. Success is being able to take my daughter to school every morning and enjoy evening walks with my dog in a safe and welcoming community. Success is finding peace in knowing that I am living and creating a life that feels balanced, and true to who I am.
