Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Bigott
Hi Katherine, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey as a professional in Advertising, Digital Media, and Public Relations has been driven by a constant desire to take risks, challenge myself, and embrace the lessons I’ve encountered along the way. After graduating from college in 2015 with a degree in Advertising and PR and a minor in Journalism, I immediately knew my first step toward evolving as a professional was to gain experience, knowledge, and insight by working in advertising agencies.
I had the privilege of working in both a boutique-style agency and a corporate agency structure. These intense work environments, with long days and nights, provided a significant learning curve in my development. I gained a deep understanding of client management and dynamics, built powerful strategies, and honed my skills in executing campaigns and developing new business.
As an ambitious professional in my field, I worked tirelessly to expand my knowledge and client management skills. However, I always found myself asking: What’s next? After four years in the field, I decided I was ready for the next step. I made the decision to leave my agency job and venture into independent marketing consulting, which ultimately resulted in the birth of BSocial Group.
With my experience in the niche of luxury brands within the design industry, I quickly landed my first client, Addison House. Managing their branding, digital, and social media strategies put me on the radar of other luxury brands. These brands recognized the value of a seasoned professional who not only excelled in the field but also had a deep understanding of the design industry and their specific needs.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to building BSocial Group has not always been smooth, but it has been fulfilling and rewarding in more ways than I ever imagined. Building a boutique-style marketing consultancy practice takes determination to continue even when you feel at a loss, consistency in the quality of work and relationships you build, and the grace to allow yourself to make mistakes and learn from them as well.
One of the biggest struggles I have encountered along the way is learning to delegate. When I first started taking on clients, I was a one-man show. As I continued to grow, I struggled with the idea that to expand the company, I needed to delegate work and take tasks off my plate. Thankfully, today, I have a small but incredible team of creative and proactive members who deliver amazing work and share the same vision as I do: to continuously evolve and deliver quality work!
We’ve been impressed with BSOCIAL Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
