Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Carlos Velasquez.
Hi Juan Carlos, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey in healthcare began over 20 years ago. I started my career as a registered nurse, working in several hospital specialties, including dialysis, cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and neurointervention. Throughout those years, I had the opportunity to care for thousands of patients and gained firsthand experience with both acute and chronic disease management.
As I advanced in my career, I earned my Nurse Practitioner degree and continued working in hospital-based medicine. While I valued helping patients during some of the most critical moments of their lives, I realized that much of traditional healthcare focuses on treating disease after it occurs rather than preventing it.
That realization inspired me to pursue a more proactive approach to health and wellness. Together with my brother, I founded Circle Health Center with a mission to help patients optimize their health, improve their quality of life, and focus on longevity through personalized care. Today, we provide services ranging from hormone optimization and medical weight loss to regenerative and wellness therapies, all designed to help patients feel their best and take control of their health before major health issues arise.
Looking back, every step of my journey—from bedside nursing to advanced practice and entrepreneurship—has been driven by the same goal: helping people live healthier, happier, and longer lives.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Like most entrepreneurs in healthcare, the journey has come with its share of challenges. Transitioning from working in large hospital systems to owning and operating a private practice required learning an entirely new side of healthcare—business operations, marketing, compliance, staffing, and patient acquisition.
One of the biggest challenges was building trust and growing the practice from the ground up. In the beginning, we had to wear many hats and often worked long hours to ensure every patient received the level of care and attention they deserved. Navigating the constantly changing healthcare landscape, regulations, and insurance complexities also presented obstacles along the way.
However, each challenge became an opportunity to learn and improve. The struggles taught us resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying focused on our mission. Seeing the positive impact we have on our patients’ lives makes all of the hard work worthwhile and continues to motivate us to grow and evolve as a practice.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Circle Health Center ?
Circle Health Center is a patient-centered wellness and longevity clinic focused on helping individuals optimize their health, improve their quality of life, and age with confidence. We take a proactive approach to healthcare by combining evidence-based medicine with personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique goals and needs.
We specialize in hormone optimization for both men and women, medical weight loss, peptide therapy, regenerative medicine, IV therapy, aesthetics, sexual wellness, and preventative health services. Our goal is not only to help patients look better, but more importantly, to help them feel better, perform better, and live healthier lives.
What sets us apart is our commitment to personalized care. We take the time to listen to our patients, thoroughly review their health history and laboratory results, and develop customized treatment plans rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. We believe healthcare should be collaborative, educational, and focused on long-term outcomes.
One of the things we’re most proud of is the relationships we’ve built with our patients and the trust they place in us. Many of our patients come to us after feeling unheard or frustrated with traditional healthcare experiences. Seeing them regain their energy, confidence, and overall well-being is incredibly rewarding and reinforces why we do what we do every day.
We want readers to know that our brand is built on education, integrity, innovation, and patient results. Whether someone is looking to improve their metabolic health, balance their hormones, lose weight, enhance their performance, or simply take a more proactive approach to their health, our mission is to provide the tools, guidance, and support needed to help them achieve their goals and live their best life.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I believe luck can create opportunities, but success ultimately comes from preparation, hard work, and persistence. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors, supportive colleagues, and opportunities that helped shape my path in healthcare. I consider myself lucky to have gained experience across multiple specialties over the past 20 years, which gave me a broad perspective and strong clinical foundation.
At the same time, there have been challenges and setbacks that some might consider bad luck—from navigating the complexities of healthcare regulations to the uncertainties that come with building and growing a business. Every obstacle taught valuable lessons and helped us become stronger and more adaptable.
Looking back, what many people call “luck” is often the result of consistently showing up, being willing to learn, and taking calculated risks when opportunities arise. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had, but I’m equally grateful for the challenges because they played a significant role in shaping both me and Circle Health Center into what we are today.
