Inspiring Conversations with Jenilee Guilbert of Lashaholiks Eyenonymous, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenilee Guilbert

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I became a Certified Lash Artist after I went through a tough break up. I needed something to supplement my income so a friend of mine recommended taking a lash course. I took a 4 hour course in a Dunkin Donuts conference room, practiced and practiced and ended up loving it. I love the reaction I receive from my clients when I hand them the mirror. I love the stories they tell me about how their confidence has been boosted because of their lashes. I have lashed hundreds of clients in the last 6 years and I haven’t had one client tell me they hate their lashes. Now I teach others how to apply lash extensions either in person or through my online course. I have also created digital products, which are available through my Instagram store, that helps Lash Artists gain clients and keep them, the importance of social media presence, etc., and I am not done. I am still creating and learning more every day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. My biggest issue was lash retention. Finding a glue that works with the temperature and humidity level of your room is extremely challenging. I follow many groups on Facebook for Lash Artists and I see multiple posts everyday regarding this issue. Unfortunately, it’s like kissing a bunch of frogs to find your prince, you have to try a ton of different glues before you find your holy grail. Without the perfect glue the lash extensions won’t stick or they will start popping off as soon as they leave your chair. It can be very frustrating and I have contemplated quitting many times, but I stuck with it and just kept trying everything until I found the one.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Lash extensions is definitely an addiction. A good one though! When I created my lash business I chose a name that would embody the passion and dedication shared by those who love and appreciate the artistry of lash extensions. The name playfully reflects the idea of a supportive community for ‘lash addicts,’ where enthusiasts can embrace their love for lashes in a welcoming and empowering environment.

What sets me apart is my commitment to working with clients who align with my brand values. I believe in creating a positive and professional environment where both my clients and I can thrive. While I strive to be as accommodating as possible with scheduling, I also value reliability and mutual respect. If a client needs to cancel at the last minute due to unexpected circumstances, I reschedule without charging a cancellation fee because I understand that life can be unpredictable. This approach allows me to build long-term, trusting relationships with clients who appreciate a balanced, client-focused experience. With my lash course, I provide two 30-minute zoom calls with me. Some people are offering courses for $50 and calling it a day. They don’t provide any support system. I am giving you my time to ask your questions and pick my brain. To me, that is an invaluable perk. I didn’t have that when I took my 4 hour in person course. Once I left that room that was it. I had no on e there to ask my questions.

I’m most proud of creating a brand that not only offers quality services but also genuinely connects with my clients and community. Lashaholiks Eyenonymous is more than just a lash business; it’s a space where clients feel understood, valued, and supported. I’ve built a brand that prioritizes authenticity, client relationships, and inclusivity, while maintaining high standards of professionalism. Seeing how my brand has empowered others to feel confident and beautiful, and witnessing the trust and loyalty I’ve earned from my clients, is what truly makes me proud.

My brand, Lashaholiks Eyenonymous, offers a range of services designed to empower aspiring and established lash artists. I provide a QuickStart Lash Certification, a comprehensive course that equips students with the foundational skills to confidently begin their lash careers. Additionally, I have developed and continue to create a collection of digital products tailored for Lash Artistry. These resources cover everything from gaining & retaining clients to effective marketing strategies, giving lash artists the tools they need to grow their businesses and elevate their skills.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Keep going!! It is not easy. This is going to be hard, but I promise you it’s worth it! I wish someone would have told me that when I started. I thought it was going to be so easy but it’s definitely not. There is a lot to learn. You need to perfect your isolation skills for one. That is probably the most important part, other than choosing the perfect glue. If you don’t properly learn how to isolate the lashes and properly apply the extension you can permanently damage the natural lash.
