Inspiring Conversations with Hannah Sweitzer of Revive Physiotherapy

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Sweitzer.

Hannah Sweitzer

Hi Hannah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Hannah Sweitzer. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, and strength and conditioning coach. Prior to starting my own business, I was working for a private orthopedic practice for four years. I was tired of insurance companies deciding how I could treat my patients, how many visits they got, and forcing us to see multiple patients at once. 18 months ago, I started my own practice, Revive Physiotherapy, to provide a different type of healthcare: Healthcare that exceeds all expectations with a life-changing experience. A place where you, the patient, are treated as a human, not a number, body part, or insurance claim. A place where your struggles, pains, and frustrations are heard, genuinely cared for, and become the foundation of a plan designed to help you achieve your active goals.

Revive Physiotherapy thrives on community and patient experience, not physician referrals and insurance companies. I have evolved from a tiny room in the back of a gym to my own facility with a second physical therapist. Word-of-mouth referrals and community partnerships have helped us fill the clinic and give people the help and care they deserve. Every day I wake up I strive to accomplish three main goals: eat whole healthy foods, exercise, and do the right thing to help others. This has helped me succeed in business and continue to grow personally.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Two days after I left my full-time job, my father passed away. This took a toll on me emotionally, but I also used this experience to fuel my purpose as a healthcare provider. It inspired and motivated me to provide value to a community that is underserved by our current healthcare system. I think about my dad daily, and I am committed to living my healthiest life and empowering others to do the same to enjoy life to its fullest. Once I started making progress there was no turning back. Of course I go through the typical ups and downs of business, but I know I am providing a service that is needed by so many people. As long as I continue to provide genuine care to my patients, we will keep growing.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Revive Physiotherapy?
We help active people decrease pain, recover faster, and optimize performance so they can fully enjoy the life they crave. It is painful to be limited in what you can and cannot do, and I believe everyone deserves to feel free. Our mission is to empower and inspire people to take control of their health and fitness through education, movement, and self-care so that they can live long, healthy, meaningful lives.

We provide one-on-one physical therapy treatment for people experiencing pain or functional limitations. We specialize in treating acute and chronic pain of neuro-musculoskeletal origin, which means pain that started 4 hours ago or something youve been dealing with for many years.

We are different from other providers in the rehab space for multiple reasons. Our physical therapists are highly skilled in manual therapy, meaning we use various hands-on techniques to decrease pain and improve mobility. This service is available during each session until no longer necessary.

Our therapists are also certified in Dry Needling, which is a form of acupuncture used to decrease pain, promote muscle/tendon healing, and activate muscles to work better. We insert needles into muscles, tendons, bone, joint capsules, scar tissue, skin, and around nerves to create a response at a chemical and cellular level.

Unlike typical doctors, we evaluate and treat each patient based on how they move, not what an image shows. We understand how all body parts are related and how dysfunction in one area of the body can cause pain in another area. Our treatment programs aim to restore natural movement and strength at all levels of the body, not just the area of pain.

We are a fitness forward practice. Our mission is to keep our patients active throughout rehab and the rest of their lives! Our rehab programs take you through various exercises, from foundational movements to your end goal.

Unlike most physical therapy clinics, you will receive full attention from your Doctor of Physical Therapy for your entire visit! Treatment sessions do not overlap with other patients, and you will never be handed off to a rehab tech or assistant! The combination of progressive techniques and healthcare professionals who are genuinely invested in your well-being creates an unforgettable and life-changing experience.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
As a kid, I loved sports and playing outside. I started basketball in kindergarten and played sports until my sophomore year of college. I started weight training in 9th grade. I would go to the weight room before classes started or after school before  practice. That’s when I fell in love with health and fitness.

Schoolwork was also very important to me. I wanted to be the best. Anything less than an A was unacceptable. I carried this mentality with me through grad school. Once you grow up, you realize grades don’t matter, but it was just a part of me. I never gave anything less than my best.
