Inspiring Conversations with Guadalupe De Lafuente of LITTLE MISS PLANNER

Today we’d like to introduce you to Guadalupe De Lafuente.

Hi Guadalupe, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began working in the wedding industry nearly fifteen years ago with a catering company that continues to service many of the venues throughout Key West and the Lower Keys. During my time there, I gained invaluable experience in event logistics, timelines, guest service, and vendor coordination, while also building relationships with many talented professionals with who I still have the pleasure of working alongside today.

I was later hired by a local wedding rental company, where I specialized in event rentals and design elements. After several years in that role, I organically transitioned into wedding planning, combining my experience in logistics, design, and vendor management to create seamless celebrations. Over time, I have grown into the planner and designer I am today, curating meaningful and personalized events that reflect each couple’s unique vision, personality, and love story.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges of this job is that we are working with a lot of emotions on one of the most important days in the lives of two people and their families. Weddings are exciting, joyful, and meaningful, but they can also be stressful at times. A big part of our role is helping everyone stay calm, focused on what truly matters, and able to enjoy the day. To do that, we have to be able to remain calm ourselves, no matter what is happening behind the scenes.

Wedding days are also incredibly fast-paced. We work long hours, manage tight setup schedules, solve unexpected issues, answer countless questions, and often become the person everyone turns to throughout the day. Over the years, I’ve learned a few lessons that have made wedding days much easier to navigate: manage your time wisely, trust your team and delegate when needed, and don’t spend energy worrying about things that cannot be changed. Staying solution-oriented makes all the difference.

Living and working in the Florida Keys, I would say our biggest challenge is the weather. As beautiful as it is, it can be unpredictable, and conditions can change quickly. Over the years, we have learned to always have a Plan A, Plan B, and sometimes even a Plan C. Preparation is everything. When the proper plans are in place and everyone knows what to do, we can adapt to almost anything and still create a seamless, beautiful celebration for our couples.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about LITTLE MISS PLANNER?
My name is Guadalupe, and I am the founder and owner of Little Miss Planner. My team and I specialize in creating personalized wedding celebrations that truly reflect the vision, style, and personality of each couple we work with.

Many of our clients come to us with a dream of getting married in the Florida Keys, whether on a private island, at a waterfront resort, or in one of the area’s historic venues. Our job is to bring that vision to life while making the planning process as enjoyable and seamless as possible. As full-time Florida Keys locals, we take great pride in sharing this incredible destination with our couples and their guests. I have personally called the Keys home for nearly twenty years, and I love helping visitors experience everything that makes this place so special. The relaxed atmosphere, natural beauty, and island lifestyle create the perfect setting for a wedding weekend that allows family and friends to slow down, reconnect, and celebrate together.

One of my greatest passions outside of weddings is traveling. I am constantly inspired by the places I visit and the unique details that make each destination memorable. I love bringing that inspiration into our events and using it to create weddings that feel fresh, intentional, and uniquely tailored to each couple. No two weddings we plan are ever the same, and that is one of the things we love most about what we do. Design is a significant part of our work, but we believe great design goes beyond aesthetics—it helps create an experience that guests will remember long after the celebration is over.

We currently offer Full Wedding Planning services and guide our clients through every stage of their wedding weekend, from welcome events and wedding day celebrations to farewell gatherings. We would love the opportunity to help bring your vision to life.
