Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Marni Feuerman.
Hi Dr. Marni , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I took a traditional path through higher education to become a licensed therapist. I went to undergrad at University of Florida and obtained a B.S. in Psychology. I knew since high school that I wanted to work in the field of psychology. After working for two years as a case manager after graduating, I returned to school at Barry University to earn my Masters in Social Work. I then worked for Broward Health both on a psychiatric floor and later at one of the outpatient primary healthcare sites overseeing the behavioral health services. I stopped working for a while after having twin daughters. Eventually I went back part time with a group practice. I since became licensed as a marriage and family therapist after developing an interest in working with couples, in addition to already being a licensed clinical social worker. After working in the group practice in Coral Springs for a while, I took a leap to go out totally on my own and started my own private practice in Boca Raton where I was also raising my kids with my husband. That was over twenty years ago now! I also returned to school to obtain a doctorate in clinical psychology several years ago. As you can tell, I am a lifelong learner and love staying up to date on the most advanced clinical practices. I continue to run a thriving solo private practice specializing in relationships issues with couples and individuals and I love it! Beyond this, I am most proud of the family life my husband and I created together. We are empty-nesters now and enjoying that phase of life. They all keep me motivated the most!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the beginning of my educational journey, the biggest struggle was financial. I always had to work and I put myself through graduate school while working full time. It was a very stressful and out of balance time of my life. I’ve always worked hard and am a goal oriented person. I’ve been told I have a great work ethic. I would say this is true! But I certainly know there’s more to life than work. I have actually had to make a conscious effort to work a bit less in order to have more time and energy for hobbies and leisure.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Talking Solution Psychotherapy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’ve spent nearly 30 years working with individuals, couples, and families both in traditional clinical settings and in private practice to help people deepen connection, heal relationship wounds, and create lives filled with more emotional intimacy and meaningful connection. What I want people to know about my work is simple: relationships matter and they don’t have to be harder than they need to be. I specialize in helping people understand the emotional patterns beneath their struggles, repair disconnection, and build secure, trusting bonds with the people they care about most.
I provide individual, couples, and family therapy with a systemic, science-based approach…meaning I look at how your emotions, life experiences, and patterns of relating all influence one another. I’m a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapy Supervisor. One of only a handful in the the entire state of Florida.
My work extends beyond the therapy room as a freelance writer, author, media expert, and speaker on the topic of relationships. I wrote a self-help book that was published in 2019 titled, Ghosted & Breadcrumbed: Stop Falling for Unavailable Men and Get Smart about Healthy Relationships (New World Library) that empowers women to break unhealthy relational cycles and make wiser, more fulfilling choices.
I’m frequently sought out by national media, blogs, podcasts, and magazines to provide commentary on topics like marriage, emotional intimacy, attachment, communication, dating patterns, and divorce. I enjoy being able to reach people on a much broader level.
My approach as a therapist is knowledgeable, compassionate, and practical.. Grounded in clinical science, but delivered in a way that’s accessible and relatable. I’ve walked alongside people through the most painful moments of their relationships, and I use that depth of real-world experience to help others find clarity, connection, and hope. What sets my work apart is that I don’t just fix problems, I want to help you understand why patterns persist and how you can change them from the inside out.
I pride myself on being a trusted guide and collaborator. Someone who listens deeply, challenges gently, and supports you through transformation. I’m equally proud of the work I’ve done both with clients in therapy and with readers and audiences around the world through my writing, media contributions and public education.
If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, hurt, or overwhelmed in your relationships, you don’t have to navigate it alone. My practice offers therapy for individuals struggling with breakups, unhealthy relationship patterns, and divorce ambivalence. I also specialize in couples therapy to strengthen communication, intimacy, and build trust and a healthy bond. I also provide clinical supervision and consultation for other therapists.
Whether someone is seeking healing, deeper connection, or simply to understand themselves and their relationships more clearly, my services are to help you thrive, not just survive.
Any big plans?
My plans are to continue working part time. I always look forward to traveling and think it’s good to always have a vacation on the calendar even if it’s a year out! I also want to make more time for travel, pickleball, golf, and socializing with friends. I have no immediate plans to retire but perhaps slow down a bit within the next few years.
