Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr, Fabiola Ortega
Hi Dr, Fabiola, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Managua, Nicaragua and arrived in Miami, Florida at the age of 4. I lived in Kendall my whole life until I got accepted to the University of South Florida. I attended it for 4 years and double majored in Criminology and Biomedical sciences. I graduated and was accepted to Howard University College of Dentistry where I completed my Doctorate of Dental Surgery and then my Pediatric Specialty where I received several awards including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Predoctoral Student Award, National Dental Association Award in General Dentistry, Distinction from the Department of Restorative Services, and was inducted in the Honors program. I was also a recipient of the Class of 1962 Ethics Research Paper Award. Upon graduation, I moved back to Miami and began working for corporate dentistry immediately. I worked for the same company for 12 years and then decided to open up my private practice. I truly love my profession. I feel that everyone in life is looking for that genuinely fulfilling career, and I am fortunate to have found it. It is my passion, and I value the trust patients and their parents put in me every day.
I specialize in treating special needs patients, behavioral management, and cosmetic dentistry in children. I love the interaction and use my ability to connect with my young patients to make them comfortable during treatment. As a mother of a young son, I understand that a child’s earliest dental experiences are paramount, and I treat each child as if they were my own.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is always a rollercoaster but we are settling in. 2 years since I went solo and its been great to grow as a provider and person.

I am a Pediatric Dentist that has been practicing since 2011. I am a hispanic woman that came from humble beginnings and has worked hard to get to where I am, We built this office from scratch. We picked every single detail in the office and we are proud. I believe our office is filled with positivity and genuine care for the patients and their families. We strive to make long lasting relationships while creating an environment where all children feel safe and welcome. Our goal is to make lasting memories and positive experience that children will take with them into adulthood.
