Inspiring Conversations with Christos Philippou of Qrder

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christos Philippou

Hi christos, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up in Cyprus, I always had a passion for innovation and a drive to create solutions that make life easier. As an athlete, I learned the importance of discipline, perseverance, and pushing boundaries—traits that have shaped both my academic and entrepreneurial journey.

While I loved Cyprus, I recognized that moving to the USA would open up opportunities that simply weren’t as available back home. I wanted to experience a place with a thriving tech ecosystem and a culture that embraces new ideas, so I made the decision to attend Lindenwood University in St. Louis. Here, I’ve been able to balance my studies with athletics while diving deeper into the world of business and technology.

My experiences in the U.S. and the challenges I noticed in customer service and the dining industry inspired me to create QRder. This platform is more than just a business; it’s a solution designed to revolutionize how customers interact with service providers, making every experience smoother and more efficient. With QRder, we’re blending technology with everyday convenience, and I’m excited about how far we can go with it

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting QRder has been a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience. One of the biggest challenges has been my age. Being a young entrepreneur in a competitive industry means sometimes having to prove my capabilities more than others. I’ve had to show that my age doesn’t limit my ability to create meaningful solutions and lead a business.

Another major challenge is being far from home. Moving to the U.S. meant leaving behind my family and friends in Cyprus, so I don’t have that immediate support system. While technology helps me stay connected, it’s not the same as having them physically nearby, especially when I’m dealing with the pressures of building a startup.

At the start, I also needed to find a part-time job to support myself financially. Balancing work, school, and QRder was demanding, and as a student-athlete, time management has been essential. Between training, classes, and working on QRder, there’s barely any free time. But this experience has taught me how to prioritize, stay disciplined, and make the most of every moment. All these challenges have shaped me into a more resilient and focused individual, ready to take QRder to new heights.

We’ve been impressed with Qrder, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
QRder is a technology-focused business committed to redefining customer service in the hospitality and retail sectors. I specialize in sales and business development, where my focus is on creating lasting partnerships and expanding our network to help businesses unlock the full potential of streamlined, tech-driven solutions. By building connections and fostering relationships, I am driving QRder’s growth and increasing its impact.

What sets me apart is my determination and survival instinct. We’re a young team, but we’re driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a strong belief in what we’re creating. Each challenge we face only strengthens our resolve, and we’re constantly innovating and improving to stay ahead.

I’m most proud of the discipline within our team. We approach every task with focus and consistency, and that dedication has become our foundation. It’s this discipline that has allowed us to move quickly, adapt to challenges, and stay on track toward our goals.

With QRder, we offer a streamlined ordering experience that enhances customer service and satisfaction. Our platform enables customers to place orders directly from their phones using QR codes, eliminating long wait times and reducing errors. This approach not only improves customer satisfaction but also boosts efficiency for businesses, ensuring every interaction is smooth, quick, and consistent.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending time with my family and best friends back in Cyprus. Growing up, we were a close group, always supporting each other and creating memories that I still hold close. Whether it was family gatherings, playing sports with friends, or just hanging out, those moments taught me the value of connection, loyalty, and perseverance.

From a young age, I understood that if I wanted to create something meaningful, something that could make my family and friends proud, I’d have to push myself to stand out and do it on my own. That realization sparked a drive in me to strive for excellence and to work hard to build something bigger than myself. It’s that ambition to make them proud that still motivates me every day, especially being so far from home.
