Hi Cesar, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Cesar Bautista, founder of Tactical K-9 LLC / TK9 Miami. My journey into this business wasn’t something that happened overnight — it came from a lifetime of passion, experience, and a genuine love for animals. Long before TK9 Miami existed, I spent over a decade in law enforcement, where I learned the importance of discipline, patience, leadership, and earning trust. Those experiences helped shape the foundation of who I am today, both personally and professionally.
But even before law enforcement, animals were always a huge part of my life. For over 30 years, I’ve had a deep connection with dogs and a passion for understanding them. I’ve always believed dogs are more than just pets — they’re family, protectors, companions, and reflections of the energy and leadership around them.
As time went on, I realized there was a gap in the dog industry. A lot of people were looking not only for training, but for guidance, trust, consistency, and someone who truly cared about their dog the way they do. That’s what inspired me to build Tactical K-9 LLC — a company focused on creating real relationships with both dogs and their owners, while providing structure, reliability, and professionalism at the highest level.
What started as a passion slowly grew into a full-service business offering training, boarding, grooming, walking, transportation, and customized care — all handled by one trusted team. Every client that comes through our doors is treated with patience, respect, and purpose. For me, this business has never just been about dogs; it’s about helping families create stronger bonds, better communication, and a better quality of life with their companions. We focus on a balanced training method, in order to have the best results.
None of this would have been possible without the people who believed in me along the way. I’m incredibly grateful for the guidance and mentorship I received from organizations like Metro-Dade K9, Anthony and Tony Guzman, as well as close friends who constantly pushed me to grow, stay focused, and never stop learning — especially my friends Victor, Victor… yes, both Victors lol… and Jack. Having people around me who believed in my vision during the early stages made a huge difference, and I’ll always carry respect and gratitude for everyone who helped shape this journey.
The journey hasn’t been easy, but every challenge, sacrifice, and lesson has helped shape TK9 Miami into what it is today. I’m proud of how far we’ve come, but even more excited for where we’re going. At the end of the day, this is more than a business to me — it’s something built from passion, loyalty, gratitude, and a commitment to making a real impact, for real life results.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like any business built from the ground up, there were a lot of sacrifices, long nights, setbacks, and moments of uncertainty along the way. Transitioning from law enforcement into entrepreneurship was a huge leap. In this industry, earning trust takes time, and building a reputation means proving yourself consistently every single day.
One of the biggest struggles was balancing the passion I had for dogs with the reality of running a business. People often see the finished product, but they don’t always see the pressure, the risks, the financial sacrifices, or the amount of work that happens behind the scenes. There were times where I had to wear every hat myself — trainer, caretaker, marketer, cleaner, driver, customer service, and business owner all at once.
Another challenge was learning that not everyone will understand your vision in the beginning. Building something meaningful requires patience, discipline, and the ability to keep going even when things get difficult. There were moments of self-doubt, exhaustion, and setbacks that tested me mentally and emotionally, but those moments also helped me grow stronger and wiser.
At the same time, those struggles taught me some of the most valuable lessons of my life — the importance of consistency, humility, loyalty, and surrounding yourself with the right people. I’ve been fortunate to have good people around me who encouraged me, guided me, and reminded me why I started in the first place. My wife and Daughter are huge contributors of that.
Looking back now, I’m grateful for every obstacle because it helped shape both me and the company into what we are today. The journey made me appreciate every opportunity, every client, every dog, and every person who has supported TK9 Miami along the way.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories was simply growing up around animals and spending countless hours with dogs. Ever since I was young, I always felt a special connection with them. I remember being the kid who was always outside, playing with dogs, observing their behavior, trying to train them in my own way, and building bonds with them without even realizing that one day it would become such a huge part of my life.
Those moments taught me patience, loyalty, and companionship long before I understood those lessons as an adult. Looking back now, it’s meaningful to realize that something that brought me so much happiness as a child eventually became my passion, my career, and the foundation of the business I’ve built today.
I think those memories are a big part of why I care so deeply about helping people strengthen the relationship with their dogs now — because I know firsthand how special that bond can be.
