Today, we’d like to introduce you to Catiana Altidor.
Hi Catiana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Growing up, I always had a desire to see change in the world. I would grieve overseeing homeless people, injustice, murder, or people just simply sad and hurting, and I knew I wanted to do something about it. As I got older, I got involved in the wrong things in life, and by the age of seventeen, I ended up in a long-term relationship with a man ten years older than me.
The relationship was toxic and abusive, and I endured that abuse for eight years until one day I found the courage to leave. At this point, we were married and had two young girls. I made a life-changing decision to leave and start my life over. I moved back into my parents’ home, broken, ashamed, and lost hope.
But that is where I met my purpose. See, in that broken place, God began to give me a vision for my life, what He had already predestined for me to be. I saw myself speaking on stage and just speaking life to other people. I began to pursue this vision with my personal healing, time., and dedication. Predestined For Purpose LLC was born.
Now, I use my story to inspire and coach other women and young people to rise up above all the pain, trauma, and past failures and pursue the purpose that God has created them for, what was already predestined for them before they were even born.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! In 2021, I was navigating through a divorce and my life was turned upside down. In 2022, I lost everything, my car, relationships, and every counterfeit thing I built my life on. In 2023, I experienced more setbacks and delays. Now in 2024, things are beginning to look up for me again. I’ve had people not believe in me, laugh in my face, try to discourage me, and make me second guess my decision to pursue destiny.
However, I chose to keep going no matter what came my way because I know it really isn’t just about me. It’s a life for a life, I laid down mine so others can experience the healing they need through my story of triumph. Through this all, I’ve learned that it’s not the destination that matters, it’s the journey that amplifies the story.
We’ve been impressed with Predestined For Purpose LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Predestined For Purpose LLC is a speaking and coaching business that I have created to coach women from adversity to triumph in all areas of their lives to build the confidence to live the life she was predestined to live. I specialize in keynote speaking, and individual 1:1 coaching, while also offering packages for group coaching and mentorship.
I believe what sets me apart from others is my transparency. It’s in my ability to candidly share my past and present mistakes (and successes) that women then know that I can relate to them, so in the end, my clients trust that I am the one who can help achieve the goals they desire.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
My favorite childhood memory is having my father always take us on road trips to the farm. LOL. He loved animals, and he would always bring some stray animal home and try to domesticate it. My mother hated animals, so she would always put them outside.
However, I saw all kinds of animals coming in and out of my home as a child, from rabbits to birds to iguanas, and even had a pet rooster (which was VERY mean, by the way). It would chase me around, and I would run, trying to climb to the highest surface I could find. It was scary then, but looking back, I can laugh now. I am grateful for those experiences because they have shaped my love for animals and wildlife.
