Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolina Cicala.
Hi Carolina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It started like a simple idea that came up when we have been here in Miami for the first time to spend our summer holidays from Italy (this happened in 2019). My husband has worked as a chef in Italy since many years and his dream was to open his own restaurant business. We have thought that Miami was a good place to establish our own business. As soon as we came back in Italy after that vacation, we have started to build up the project, and 2 years later we did it for real. It was a journey full of troubles and issues, but at the end we did it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been very tough. Covid has been a big issue at that time. It slowed us down a lot. Furthermore it has been very difficult having the business permits and in general the whole integration process has been a problem.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
It’s a small family based Italian restaurant. We do house made fresh pasta.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Stay focused on our mission, provide the real Italian food to our neighborhood. Wine knowledge is a priority that we have developed a lot during those years
