Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlyn Myland.
Hi Caitlyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I attended Florida International University in 2012 and majored in biomedical engineering (BME). I tutored for various companies but wanted to earn a bit more. So, in 2015 I got my bartending license and bartended many college parties, at the Marriott hotel in Brickell, and at private events. A lot of my colleagues and friends were amazed at the fact that I was an engineering student but attended all the on (and off) campus social events, whether I was bartending, partying, or both lol. In actuality, those extra curriculares were just my way of balancing the stresses that came with being an engineering student. In 2017, I graduated with my bachelor’s and continued immediately to complete my master’s. I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to pay for my master’s program. However, with the pressures of a master’s degree in my field, not even I could handle the party life and school at this level, so I had to figure out a different method of dealing with school stress while still focusing everything into school. Crazy right? Well, fortunately enough, I met my partner in crime, and we knew instantly that we together would get through this master’s program.
Fast forward four years and I have graduated with my masters in BME, and in about six short months, COVID-19 hits the US. With the mass panic and almost immediate shut down of businesses, getting a job in my field was that much more difficult. A year into dealing with COVID, and things are opening back up, I was encouraged by a friend to start my own bartending business, so I did! I immediately came up with the idea of Ready Bartending. Basically, I wanted to create a one stop shop for any event by providing all the necessities for the bar, and other services if needed. I started by creating a course and trained a team of amazing people to staff events! Word of mouth went a long way for me, so once people heard I was back in the bartending business my phone started buzzing left and right. Before I knew it, my clientele list grew drastically! I have even worked with liquor brands and businesses that has helped to put Ready Bartending in a great position in just a short time. My goals for this business are to license potential bartenders nationally, curate cocktails menus, reels, and other marketing techniques like liquor tastings for for big liquor brands and restaurants, and lastly to staff events/venues globally!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggle was COVID-19 and also trying to separate yourself from others in an over-saturated market.
As you know, we’re big fans of Ready Bartending LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Ready Bartending was created to be a one stop shop. We are ready so you don’t have to be! We provide the supplies for events which include but not limited to the liquor, mixers, bar, ice, garnishes and more. We understand the stress that comes with planning an event so we want to make life easier by doing the job for you! We offer many services such as bartenders, servers, bussers, bar/cooler rentals, Mix N Sip classes for you and your friends/family, and a Bartending course to receive a certificate of completion. Other services we offer include cocktail/menu curation , social media marketing such as reels/TikTok’s, and pre-made cocktail table set ups for a bartender free experience. Even though we are good at what we do, I believe cocktail curation is one of our specialties (which is still improving day by day), and not to mention our customer satisfaction. We are different from other bartending businesses because when you book with us you don’t need any additional resources, we have it all ready for you!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I can’t say my favorite because there are plenty, but one of my favorite childhood memories is when my mom would wake me and my siblings up with hot chocolate milk during hurricanes and take us in her room to sleep next to her and my dad. They would read to us till we fell back asleep or play games with us to keep us distracted from the storm.
