Inspiring Conversations with Bianca Istueta of Soulful Wellness Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Istueta

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a pre-licensed mental health therapist on the path to full licensure, holding a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I merge the mental health world and yoga concepts to foster the mind, body, and soul connection we all have within us. I firmly believe that God is the guiding force behind my journey, using me as a vessel to serve others. Taking it back to childhood which contributes largely to who I am as a person today: I am blessed to have grown up in a household where my parents encouraged me to pursue my passions. They have been my pillars of strength, providing unwavering faith and unconditional support. My father instilled in me the values of tenacity, passion, and a resilient mindset. My mother instilled in me the values of empathy, service, and authenticity. It only felt aligned with who I am to have a career dedicated to helping others.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Graduate school is the greatest challenge I have overcome. During my internship, I eagerly took on the most challenging cases, understanding that the best way to learn was through experience. This hands-on approach provided invaluable lessons and growth. Every effort was worth it, and graduating with high honors stands as one of my proudest accomplishments. Was it easy? No. Was it worth it? Absolutely.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I founded Soulful Wellness Therapy LLC to fulfill the need for mental health that integrates a holistic mindfulness approach combined with evidence-based therapeutic modalities. I regard the trust my clients place in me with the utmost respect, understanding the significance of the traumas, hurts, and wounds they share. Honoring their bravery, I continuously strive to enhance my skills through learning. My drive to continue growing to best serve my clients paired with my dedication is what sets me apart. I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Perinatal Mental Health. Additionally, I am a registered yoga teacher and I apply this within my practice. My goal is to provide the highest quality mental health care and support for my clients, walking alongside them on their healing journeys.
I have experience working with various demographics and I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all my clients. My expertise is in anxiety, relationships, self-esteem difficulties, depression, childhood sexual abuse, stress, life transitions, trauma, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and perinatal mental health.
My practice is trauma-informed and I am currently accepting new clients for mental health therapy. I work with both individuals and couples. I offer in-person sessions out of my office in South Miami or virtually. You can expect inner child work, meditation-based principles to aid in mindfulness, emotional regulation skills, and psychoeducation on a loving-kindness foundation when working with me.
I offer one-on-one as well as group-setting yoga sessions with a focus on yin yoga. I am hosting, THRIVE, A Retreat to Cultivate a Playful and Nurturing Relationship with the Inner Child on April 25-29, 2025 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This retreat includes yoga and it is beginner friendly to any who would like to join. Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk-taking varies greatly from person to person and from situation to situation. In my case, starting Soulful Wellness Therapy LLC involved stepping into the unknown. I faced the risk because my WHY is strong, my desire to help people.

Let your intuition guide you when it comes to risk-taking. We all have within us an inner knowing, that gut feeling, a moral compass, or God’s whisper. Be still enough to listen to it and if it aligns with your soul then you will know if it’s a risk worth taking.
