Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Hollo
Hi Austin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up immersed in the world of real estate development, guided by the footsteps of my grandfather, Tibor Hollo, the founder of Florida East Coast Realty (FECR). After joining FECR in 2009, I embraced the opportunity to work closely with my grandfather, father, and uncle, learning from their wealth of experience. My career journey has been about blending my family’s legacy with a modern perspective, focusing on innovation and adapting to the needs of younger generations. Over the years, I have taken on various roles, from leasing and management to strategic vision and business development, ultimately becoming the Chief Operating Officer. My proudest achievement so far has been overseeing the successful leasing, management, and marketing of Panorama Tower, the tallest building in Florida.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has had its share of challenges, particularly in navigating the complexities of the real estate market and ensuring the continuous success of our projects. One significant challenge was managing the operations of our company during the post-COVID era. During this time, my leadership skills were put to the test, as I took on new responsibilities and coordinated the reopening of FECR’s properties and offices. The pandemic tested our adaptability, requiring swift implementation of new policies and procedures to effectively meet the needs of our employees and tenants. Despite these obstacles, the experience strengthened our team’s resilience and commitment to excellence.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My grandfather, Tibor Hollo, has been my most impactful personal and professional mentor. His advice to “work hard until you get there, and, when you get there, work harder” has been a guiding principle throughout my career. His visionary leadership and commitment to excellence have inspired me to strive for the same in my work. Additionally, my family, including my grandmother (Sheila), father (Wayne), and uncle (Jerome), have been invaluable supporters, providing guidance and fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.
