Inspiring Conversations with Arianna Mendez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arianna Mendez.

Arianna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in California and raised in Miami. My parents are Cuban. Having fled due to political prosecution, my parents instilled in me a profound respect for the rule of law and a deep sense of justice. Although they did not have much in material possessions, my parents taught me to strive for more, to treat others with honesty and respect, and to confront challenges head-on without fear of failure. These lessons guided me through college, graduate school, law school, and now the practice of law. Eventually, these teachings morphed into the founding principles of our firm: Excellence, Integrity, and Perseverance.

Excellence-from day one of the representation focusing on achieving the best results for the client, advancing high standards in the practice of law, and empowering the client to take an active role in the representation of their case;

Integrity– treating clients with honesty and respect, appreciating the client as an individual and rejecting a one-size-fits all approach, demonstrating the highest levels of professionalism toward the Court, members of the legal profession, and treating members of our staff with appreciation and respect;

Perseverance-rejecting the mentality of failure and striving to find creative legal solutions to achieve the best results for clients.

Before starting my firm, I worked in a civil litigation firm in Cutler Bay, Florida. I decided to open my own law practice to provide legal services to clients in a more modern and approachable way while still delivering the same excellent results. I am a proud graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law. In law school, I received two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, was on the Dean’s List for four consecutive semesters for academic distinction and served as Articles Editor for the Journal of Complex Litigation. I also interned for Circuit Court Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez, worked both at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office in the Domestic Violence Division and the Misdemeanor Division at the State Attorney’s Office-Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Before law school, I worked as a political speechwriter and strategist. I have appeared on both English and Hispanic media as a pundit. My opinions have been featured in the Miami Herald, NewsMax, WLRN, The Mike Essen Show, MegaTV, and AmericaTV. I have been married for over six years to my husband, Chris.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing worth doing is easy. I left a good-paying position in the middle of a pandemic to go out on my own and pave my own path. There have been long nights, moments of frustration, uncertainty, and anger. Thankfully, we have been blessed with plenty of work. The pandemic has changed the way people do business and delivering legal services in a more approachable and flexible way has really resonated with our clients. It always brings a smile to my face when I help a client resolve an issue that is causing stress in their life. Opening my own business has been the best decision I made in my life. I hope to be able to mentor other attorneys to pave their own path.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our firm help individuals and businesses in the following areas:
Contract Disputes
Business Law
Real Estate
Estate Planning and Probate

Evictions (Representing Landlords)
Appeals
Election Law

Our office is strategically located in Hialeah, Florida on the border of Miami Dade and Broward County. We provide more flat fee services and are available outside the traditional Monday through Friday/ 9 AM to 5 PM hours. We offer in-person, Zoom, phone and in-person consultations. All initial consultations are free. We also have consultations available after 5 PM via Zoom, on the weekends, and we even do house calls. We will be launching a legal subscription service later this year to offer more options to our new and existing clients. We are excited about the next chapter for our firm as we continue to expand our service options.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Yes, I realized lawyers don’t need to be tied to an office desk to be productive. We opened in the midst of the pandemic and we consciously decided to invest fewer resources in a big office space and launch with a hybrid remote/in-office model. Those savings can be passed on to our clients. Also, people expect their attorneys to be accessible so that is why we are available outside the traditional 9-5 model, on the weekends, and even on do house calls for certain legal matters. Gone are the days of multi-level bureaucracy at law firms. The practice of law has changed because the world and most importantly, our clients, expect more.  As our firm grows, we want to be an industry leader in this new trend and change the way legal services are delivered in our area while still maintaining the highest ethical standards and producing the best results for our clients.
