Inspiring Conversations with Ari Greenfield of Magitex Decor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ari Greenfield.

Hi Ari, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We are a family run business. my dad was in the bedding and furniture business in Venezuela, and I’m an engineer by trade having had my first business in interior construction. We found our current business in fabrics for interiors an decided to purchase it 15 years ago. Back then it was a local, Spanish speaking business only, offering lower level product. We saw the opportunity to expand the market and improve quality, which we have steadily done in that time frame. The last few years we have partnered with industry brands like Sunbrella and Alta, working with European vendors to improve our brand. today we work with amazing interior designers and manufacturers creating beautiful interiors in the commercial and residential markets.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s always challenging. We are caught in the middle, where sometime we are expensive for some customers and in the high end market, our brand is not recognized as much compared with legacy competitors.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We have grown into a team of 12 dedicated professionals supported by 10 outside sales representatives. Together, our sales team covers key markets across California, Texas, Florida, and up through New Jersey.

As a fashion-driven business, we launch new collections each season to inspire and support our designer and manufacturing clients. Our product range spans from drapery and blackout fabrics for window treatments to upholstery and outdoor textiles for furniture.

Our focus is on introducing exclusive designs sourced directly from mills around the world — with particular strength in Europe and Turkey — while maintaining highly competitive prices. Above all, we strive to keep our inventory in stock and ready for delivery within 24 hours, ensuring our customers can complete their projects on time.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of seeing our fabrics featured in cruise ships, hotels, and luxury residences. Beyond our curated product lines, we also offer customized textile solutions by working directly with fabric producers to fulfill virtually any request.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Cash flow is king, establish great relationships, work on automated AI systems and brand development.
