Inspiring Conversations with Angie Martinez of Amar Occasions LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Martinez.

Hi Angie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Angie Martinez, and I’ve always had a love for everything related to entertainment and celebrations. I knew I wanted to start a business one day, but I didn’t want to create just anything ,it had to be something meaningful, something that truly brought me joy and allowed me to share that happiness with others.

In 2020, while planning my own wedding, I realized how much work and stress go into making a special event come together. Despite the challenges, seeing everything fall into place and watching my loved ones enjoy the celebration sparked something inside me. I discovered how powerful it is to create moments that people will cherish forever ,and that’s when the seed for Amar Occasions was planted.

Fast forward to 2023, I was going through a difficult time and found myself feeling a bit down. I decided it was time to focus my energy on something positive, something that would keep my mind busy and my heart full. After doing a lot of research, I discovered how popular 360 photobooths were becoming and decided to invest in one. From that moment, Amar Occasions began to take shape.

The name Amar represents so much of who I am : “A” for Angie and “Mar” for Martinez, but it also means to love in Spanish. That meaning perfectly reflects my mission: to love all occasions and give my all to every event I create.

Wanting my business to be professional and organized, I enrolled in an event planning course and continued learning about the industry. I later added an iPad photobooth to my services and began expanding into decorations, rentals, luxury picnics, and even wedding officiating. Since August 2023, I’ve had the joy of offering full event services, including resident events for communities, private parties, and weddings.

Every event is different, but what never changes is the passion I pour into each one. I love turning ideas into reality and seeing my clients’ faces light up when they walk into their finished event space. One of my proudest moments was hearing a client say, “You made my vision come to life even better than I imagined.” Those words remind me why I do what I do.

Amar Occasions is built on love, creativity, and dedication. My goal is to make every client feel celebrated and stress-free, knowing that every detail is handled with care. I’m so thankful for everyone who has trusted me with their special moments, and I look forward to continuing to grow ,creating events that people will remember for a lifetime.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any new business, it definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Starting Amar Occasions came with many challenges, especially since I was learning everything from the ground up. In the beginning, I had to figure out how to run a business, find reliable vendors, market my services, and build a client base, all while balancing my full-time job.

There were times when things didn’t go as planned, events that didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted, or moments when I doubted if I was moving in the right direction. But every challenge taught me something valuable. I learned the importance of staying organized, communicating clearly, and always keeping a positive attitude, even when things get stressful.

Another struggle was overcoming self-doubt. It’s easy to compare yourself to others who have been in the industry longer, but I reminded myself that everyone starts somewhere. I chose to focus on growth, taking classes, researching, and continuously improving my services.

Each obstacle helped shape me into a stronger business owner. Looking back, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Every experience (even the difficult ones) has pushed me to grow and reminded me why I started Amar Occasions in the first place: to spread love through unforgettable celebrations.

Amar Occasions is a full-service event company based in South Florida that specializes in creating unforgettable experiences , from intimate celebrations to large-scale events. We offer a wide variety of services including event planning, event decoration, rentals, luxury picnics, wedding officiating, and photobooth services (both 360 and iPad).

What makes Amar Occasions unique is the personal touch and love that go into every single event. The name itself means “to love” in Spanish, and that meaning is at the heart of everything I do. I truly care about each client’s vision and work hard to bring it to life with creativity, organization, and attention to detail. No two events are ever the same, every setup is customized to reflect my clients’ personalities, themes, and dreams.

I take pride in offering a stress-free planning experience. From the first consultation to the final moment of the event, my goal is to make clients feel heard, supported, and excited about their celebration. I believe that planning should be fun — not overwhelming — and I strive to make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built along the way. Many of my clients come back for multiple occasions : birthdays, weddings, baby showers, and even community events. That trust and loyalty mean everything to me.

At Amar Occasions, it’s not just about hosting an event, it’s about creating memories that last a lifetime. Whether it’s a romantic wedding, a fun corporate party, or a cozy luxury picnic, every detail is handled with love, passion, and purpose.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think the event industry is going to keep evolving toward more personalized and unique experiences. People want their events to really reflect who they are , not just a standard setup. I also see technology playing a bigger role, like interactive photobooths, virtual elements, and hybrid events that let friends and family join from anywhere.

Another shift I see is that clients are becoming more conscious about sustainability. Eco-friendly decor, zero-waste options, and thoughtful planning are going to be more important than ever.

At the same time, I think people will continue to value a stress-free experience. Life is busy, and clients want someone they can trust to handle all the details while making their event special and memorable.

For me and Amar Occasions, that means staying creative, organized, and always learning new ways to make each event feel unique and effortless. I love finding ways to combine trends, technology, and personalization so that every event I do is unforgettable.
