Today we’d like to introduce you to Aman Sharma
Hi Aman, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey began in the remote villages of India, where exposure to the wider world was limited. My fascination with computers and programming ignited during my early school days. By teaching myself how to code, I started freelancing, which, together with some college mates, evolved into our first startup, Atlancey, right out of our dorm room. My passion for SAAS and AI deepened, leading me to roles such as a founding engineer at Upsell.ai and an AI researcher at TU Wien. I then embarked on another venture, an events SAAS startup that received numerous government accolades before being acquired by Twimbit. At Twimbit, I joined as the cofounder and CTO, scaling the research platform to thousands of users. After four years, I exited to explore new opportunities, eventually co-founding a new AI startup in Miami through Entrepreneur First.
Fast forward a decade, I’ve founded 4 startups—3 successes and 1 failure—and built over a dozen SAAS and AI products, reaching over a million active users, speaking at more than 70 events, and inspiring thousands of students and entrepreneurs.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road I’ve traveled has been anything but smooth, and that’s what makes my story worth telling. Growing up, I faced a challenging environment where closed mindsets were the norm. My father struggled just to pay for my tuition, let alone afford a computer. Determined to change my circumstances, I earned extra income by repairing computers and spent every spare moment in the school library, teaching myself how to code.
Our financial situation was a significant barrier to pursuing a quality technical education. Yet, through perseverance and hard work, I secured a full scholarship to BIT Mesra, one of India’s top universities. After graduation, the pressure to find a stable job was immense, but I took a leap of faith and chose the uncertain path of entrepreneurship. With no steady income and the demanding life of a startup, things got even tougher. But I kept pushing, and eventually, my gamble paid off.
While I’ve worked hard to reach where I am today, I also acknowledge that luck has played a significant role. Every opportunity I’ve had stemmed from serendipitous encounters, but I’ve learned that you can increase your ‘luck surface area’ by making smart decisions and staying persistent.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
• Lamatic.ai is an all-in-one platform designed to streamline the development of GenAI applications. With Lamatic, you can build and deploy GenAI apps in minutes, even on edge devices.
• The Problem: After creating numerous AI products and recently working on a GenAI app called Dinnerfy, we encountered significant challenges in the AI development process. The journey from ideation to prototype and production is often slow and cumbersome. Even post-launch, AI systems demand constant maintenance and adaptation to new models. This inspired the creation of Lamatic.ai.
• The Solution: Lamatic Studio empowers product teams with accelerated development through collaborative visual workflows and modular AI components. It seamlessly integrates data sources, applications, and AI models. Teams can iteratively test, experiment, and fine-tune apps before deploying them on edge, ensuring optimal model performance. Lamatic also simplifies maintenance with built-in observability and hot-swap functionality for models, making it the ultimate GenAI stack that every AI product team would eventually build—available today.
• Availability: Lamatic is available through a subscription starting at $100 per month, with scalable options based on customer needs. Currently, we are in private beta, selectively onboarding use cases, and offering specialized AI development services.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
My life has been culmination of serendipitous events where I had started from the bottom, whats the worst that could happen? This has set my risk to an high appetite. The biggest risk I took was ( strikethrough – Snorkeling during a sea storm) the deciding to exit my last company twimbit. I had the feeling that It was getting too comfortable and I was not growing and innovative enough. So I decided to shift gears and become a nomad for one year. During this time, I learnt a lot and even found another side of me. I became more focused, calm and compassionate.
