Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Taylor.
Hi Alisha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always wanted a career that lets me help people through their toughest moments. My path into law began with that purpose, to make a real difference and be a voice for others.
I started out in insurance defense, which gave me valuable insight into how corporations and carriers handle claims. Over time, that experience taught me how to advocate effectively and showed me that my real passion is helping people, not companies.
Today, I’m focused on using that knowledge to guide and protect individuals and families here in Miami. My journey is still unfolding, and I’m excited for what’s ahead as I continue to expand my work, grow as an attorney, and create a lsting impact in South Florida.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not. My path hasn’t been traditional, and I’ve faced more than a few setbacks along the way. When I first started law school, I struggled and even failed my first semester. As a first generation lawyer, it was discouraging, but it also beame a turning point that pushed me to work harder and prove to myself that I belonged in this profession.
After being denied by several schools, I was finally accepted by Ave Maria School of Law, which gave me the second chance I needed. I excelled there, earned a high GPA in my class, later transferred to St. Thomas University, and passed the Florida Bar on my first try.
Every challenge taught me something about perseverance, humility, and believing in myself even when the path wasn’t clear. Those moments shaped not just my career, but who I am today and I wouldn’t change them for anything.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m an attorney based in Miami with a background in insurance defense litigation, where I’ve handled cases involving premises liability, negligent security, construction defects, and general liability defense. That experience taught me how to analyze cases from every angle and navigate complex legal issues.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to connect with clients on a human level. Many come to me overwhelmed or intimidated by the legal process, and my goal is always to make it feel approachable. I believe that strong communiation, trust, and authenticity are just as important as legal skill.
What sets me apart is my genuine investment in every case and client. I don’t want to just resolve problems – I ant to help people rebuild, move forward, and feel supported throughout their case.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I was born and raised in Miami, so it’s always been home for me. I love everything that makes this city unique – the ocean, the culture, the food, the sounds, the lingo, and the incredible diversity. There’s an energy here that you can’t find anywhere else. No matter where I’ve lived (Orlando or Naples) nothing ever compares to Miami. It’s vibrant, bold, and full of life.
What I like least is that sometimes Miami can feel a bit materialistic. People can get caught up in appearance or status, and it can overshadow what really matters. But at the same time, I think that contrast is what makes this city so interesting – it challenged you to stay grounded and focused on what’s real.
