Inspiring Conversations with Alan Oria of Fire Water Bars

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alan Oria.

Hi Alan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started as a bartender in a popular upscale bar in Doral, Fl that ended up closing by the 2009 housing crash. It became harder and harder for bartenders to find work so I started working for a Private Bartending Company called Creative Bartenders where I thrived at Events doing more elaborate things than our Competitors ( like flair and bespoke services ). As I became the protoge of the owner I built a new style of portable bar to innovate style and utility in the private events market but the owner was unable to rent it out as much as was assured so I started renting it on my own to cover my costs. Before long, the owner and I had a fall out where we went our seperate ways and that’s when I started my own Bartending Company. The company grew organically through reputable service and work of mouth. I started to expand to more areas of the business and providings staff, bars, and Cocktail Packages. We became one of the dominant Bar Catering Companies in the South Florida Market and outlasted many competitors through several recessions, which is very rare for a luxury service.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Through several recessions and COVID, it has not been an easy road, but the company has managed to not only survive but even thrive through our outstanding service and reputation in the event industry.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?

No matter how beautiful the setup or how impressive the menu, what lasts is the way we show up: fully present, attentive, and ready to serve with heart.

We’ve learned the power of adaptability — that every event is unique, and true excellence lies in reading the room, anticipating needs, and flowing with the moment. We’ve learned to listen more than we speak, and to treat every client’s vision as if it were our own.
