The birth of our company was anything but conventional. I never set out to build an agency—managing client accounts was the last thing I thought I’d be doing. After burning out at a previous agency where pride and integrity were clearly lacking, I honestly believed this industry wasn’t for me.
But after being let go, I had no choice but to start freelancing while working at a restaurant just to make ends meet. Despite my experience, the job market was brutal—I couldn’t even land an interview. Slowly, freelance clients started coming in, and before I knew it, I was juggling a handful of accounts. To my surprise, I genuinely enjoyed the work, and my clients were thrilled with the results.
Referrals began pouring in. I found myself expanding, not out of ambition, but out of a desire to serve each client with excellence. I built a team, broadened our services, and stayed focused on what mattered most: putting people over profits.
Now, two years later, we’re a growing team of ten highly skilled marketing professionals—and I still can’t quite believe it. I thank God every day for this journey. I never expected to find fulfillment in this line of work, let alone build a team and lead with the values I always believed should define marketing.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think the hardest thing to learn on this journey has been understanding tax structures, the legality of running a successful business, and learning how to budget and scale as we continue to grow. Finding talent and building team members to carry the same values I do.
