Today we’d like to introduce you to Ximena Prelle.
Hi Ximena, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I took my first yoga class in 1993. Little did I know, that the small spark that first yoga class started would get me to where I am today. For over 20 years, I was in the corporate world, raised a family, moved countries, traveled places for work, and started from zero one too many times. In the midst of it all, holistic and natural wellness had always caught my eye, and whenever I could, I would take a training here and there to learn more about alternative and healthier ways of life.
One of those trainings really changed my perspective – integrative health coaching. I started implementing some of the newly found knowledge to deal with a health condition of my own and when I saw that it worked for me I knew there was more to it. Like most of my students today, balancing work, family and study, I finally became a yoga instructor. Ever since then, I have not stopped teaching. Today, I not only enjoy teaching weekly classes, but I also lead yoga teacher training.
I opened the studio in October 2016 with my husband’s support and encouragement. Yoga has given me a toolkit to navigate life more graciously and I know it can do it for all of us. I do my best to honor the yoga teachings I received from my teachers and to stay true to this beautiful ancient philosophy and practice.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a small business isn’t easy. You have to be prepared to face sleepless nights, work through all types of challenges, and be ready to take many risks. I still remember when March 2020 happened and we had to close for three months, and still pay rent. We can’t control everything, crossroads will pop up all along, and aside from a solid business plan and a clear vision, you need passion and love for what you do. And faith.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
