Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Cepero Drury.
Vanessa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After 15 wonderful years of working in the Television industry and collaborating on some political campaigns, I realized that it was time for a career change. I was looking for something where I could incorporate the languages that I speak with an opportunity to explore other cultures and continue learning. I wanted to do something that I already enjoyed, but now it would not be a hobby but a career change. I found an opportunity to become a Sommelier, and that allowed me to continue exploring something that I already loved – Wine! After becoming a Certified Sommelier, I briefly worked with a Wine and Spirits Importer and Distributor to gain experience on the business side of the industry. Shortly thereafter, I worked with international clients in a company that is home to some of the world’s greatest Whiskies and Rums. After a few years of that amazing experience, I was blessed with the opportunity of starting my own Wine & Spirits Consulting company, SommStyle By Vanessa. I work with private clients who are looking to customize their events in South Florida.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like many things in life, it is not always a smooth road, but it has been worth the struggle. It is rewarding to create something that brings joy to others.

SommStyle By Vanessa is a boutique Wine & Spirits Consulting company located in Miami, Florida. It was founded by Certified Sommelier, Vanessa Cepero Drury, in 2023. After more than 10 years in the Wine & Spirits industry, Vanessa brings a unique perspective by continuing her wine education on a regular basis and through travel.
The wine regions we specialize on are Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Chile, Argentina, and USA.
With spirits, we specialize in Whisk(e)y, Rum, Vermouth, and Sherry from various regions of the world.
What sets up apart from others is that we try to find partnerships with brands that are sustainable, biodynamic or organic, and local or family owned without compromising the quality or luxury components.
We work with local chefs to customize events, and look forward to providing a memorable experience.
