Hidden Gems: Meet Valentina of Fun Size Shirt Shop LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valentina.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our store was founded two years ago, inspired by our twin nieces, who have always filled our lives with endless joy. We realized that the clothing we found for them did not truly reflect their special bond or their unique personalities. That was the moment we decided to create our own line of children’s apparel—pieces that would not only be adorable, but also meaningful for every stage of childhood and every season of the year.

What began as small handmade designs created with love for our own family gradually turned into something much bigger. Friends, relatives, and eventually many mothers fell in love with our creations and with the idea of celebrating childhood’s most special moments through unique, magical outfits.

Over time, our passion grew alongside our community as families discovered they could fully customize their clothing in ways that traditional stores simply do not offer. We began creating not just apparel, but lasting memories—from baby announcements and matching family shirts to personalized gifts that bring smiles to families during birthdays, holidays, and unforgettable milestones.

Today, as a Mother and Daughter team, we continue to dream, design, and create with the same love and passion that inspired us from the very beginning. Every order means the world to us because we know that behind every outfit there is a story, a celebration, and a memory that will last forever.

Our mission is to make every customer feel special and to bring a little more magic into every single day ✨

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We started our store without having all the materials we needed, and we learned everything along the way. At the beginning, we did not have all the knowledge or financial resources necessary, but we still searched for suppliers and started creating smaller products such as baby ornaments and baby bodysuits.

Later, once we were able to gain a little more capital and funding, we began producing our own shirts. That was when our store started growing much more because we finally had full control over the quality of our products.

Our customers have always been very happy and satisfied because we always try to add something extra special to every order. For us, the details are the most important part. Over time, we hope to continue growing, gain more capital, and take our brand to the next level.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Fun Size Shirt Shop was literally born from who we are every single day: family, children, art, and creativity. Valentina has been an artist since she was 9 years old. She is a professional cellist who performs with orchestras throughout Florida, especially with the Miami Symphony Orchestra. She also works as a cello teacher, so she has always been surrounded by children—their creativity, energy, and the authentic way they see the world.

Ysabel, on the other hand, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and has spent many years working closely with children. Without even realizing it, our entire lives naturally revolved around creativity, families, and those small moments that eventually become lifelong memories.

Honestly, one of the biggest inspirations behind our designs was the arrival of our niece, Amelie. From the moment she was born, everything changed. We started creating more emotional, personalized designs that felt deeply connected to real childhood experiences. In fact, if someone looks closely at our products, they will often find names like Amelie, Barbara, or Samantha woven into our designs because our nieces are truly part of the soul of our brand.

At the end of the day, Fun Size Shirt Shop was never created simply to sell shirts. It was created because we wanted families to feel, “This was made with us in mind.” And we believe that is where the magic truly lives ✨

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Books and podcasts have played a huge role in our personal and business growth. We love La Voz de Tu Alma by Lain García Calvo and listen to it daily because of its inspiring message about mindset and personal growth.

We are also inspired by Brian Tracy’s books and podcasts, especially Believe It to Achieve It. Other favorites include Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman, The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino, and the work of Kim Kiyosaki.

We truly believe that constant learning and personal development help us become better business owners and better people every day.
