Hidden Gems: Meet Talhia Rangel of Rangel Advocacy Law, P.A.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Talhia Rangel.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story is deeply personal and rooted in lived experience. Long before I opened my practice, I was first a sister to someone with Down syndrome, and she shaped the way I saw advocacy, inclusion, and the challenges families face when trying to protect and support their loved ones with disabilities. Building this firm required a major leap of faith, leaving the stability of a traditional role, stepping into entrepreneurship, and trusting God through uncertainty, personal challenges, and even health struggles, including a thyroid cancer diagnosis and surgery. Through every season, my mission has remained the same: to serve families with compassion, dignity, and genuine advocacy while helping individuals with disabilities live protected, empowered, and meaningful lives.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening my own practice has definitely not been a smooth road, although it has been incredibly rewarding. One of the biggest challenges was realizing that as a business owner, you are not just the attorney, you become the marketer, intake coordinator, accountant, HR department, and decision-maker all at once while still trying to provide excellent legal representation. There were many moments of uncertainty, especially in the beginning, where I questioned whether I was doing enough or worried about the financial pressures and responsibilities that come with building something from scratch.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Rangel Advocacy Law, P.A.?
Rangel Advocacy Law, P.A. is a Florida-based disability and special needs advocacy law firm dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities and their families through some of the most important transitions in life. Our practice focuses on guardianship, its alternatives, special needs planning, APD matters, SSI/SSDI support, and advocacy-centered legal solutions.

We are especially proud of the community we are building around advocacy, education, and empowerment through workshops, outreach events, and accessible resources for families across Florida. Brand-wise, I am most proud that our firm has become a place where clients feel heard, cared for, and genuinely advocated for during difficult and emotional moments. I want readers to know that our mission goes beyond legal representation, we strive to create lasting impact for individuals with disabilities and their families by helping them feel protected, empowered, and supported every step of the way.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t view my journey through the lens of luck as much as I view it through faith and God’s guidance. There have certainly been moments that people may describe as “good luck” like the right opportunities, connections, mentors, clients, or timing but I believe those moments were God opening doors and placing people in my path at the right time. At the same time, there were also difficult seasons, setbacks, uncertainty, and moments where things did not go according to my plan, but even those experiences shaped me, strengthened my faith, and ultimately helped me grow both personally and professionally.
