Today we’d like to introduce you to Shana Bridges.
Hi Shana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I wanted to make Christian T-shirts for my family. I invested in a cutting machine and did just that. My husband gave me the idea of selling the T-shirts. I held a pre-launch and it was very successful. The support was overwhelming and gave me confirmation that I was moving in the right direction. When we officially launched, everything moved really fast! One day I ran out of logo stickers that I’d ordered from a big sticker brand, so I decided to research how to make my own.
I was so excited when they came out perfect! I then extended that service to my business friends and next thing you know, I’m printing out 1000s of stickers a month. Logo stickers, QR code stickers, custom branding stickers, I was up to my ears in stickers! Needless to say, now I am the go-to for branding, marketing, and promotional products such as stickers, acrylic signs, t-shirts, product labels, and more.
I do still have my “signature collection” which is the heart of my business. It includes original Christian T-shirts, Bible affirmation stickers, positivity stickers, and keychains. I’m also in the process of adding something I call “Positive Message Envelopes”. I’m really excited to launch those. We need more positivity in today’s world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
By the grace of God, I made it through my first year in business. It was a hard year for me. My husband went truck driving OTR for the first time. I had to be a mom of three 24/7 while running a business 24/7. I had horrible time management and barely slept. I buried myself in goals and orders to keep from missing my husband too much.
I was constantly stressed and burnt out on one hand but the other hand, so grateful that business was booming. I also struggled a lot because I couldn’t understand why my family and friends weren’t as supportive as I thought they would be. I’ve learned to focus on the supportive, not the unsupportive.
Would I take back anything that went wrong in the last year and a half? Not at all. This journey isn’t smooth, no matter what! Is it worth it to do something you’re passionate about? Absolutely.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
ZAB is a play on our kikids’ames and I call my office “the lab” because it’s where I create. 99% of the reviews on my website will have the word “stickers” in them. lol, That’s not what I imagined being known for but I don’t hate it. God’s blessed me with some amazing customers. They even named me “the sticker plug”.
I help businesses brand and promote their business through inexpensive products like stickers and I think that’s a pretty dope thing! I also help promote businesses through my website and social media. I’m proud that I made it past a year in business and have built not just a brand but a name for myself!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Honestly, picking my fruits off a tree! I’m from the tiny island of St. Lucia. There are many things I miss, but picking my mangoes, cherries, and golden apples off a tree, is something I can’t wait to do again.
