Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Velasquez and Alejandra Bellosta.
Hi Sara and Alejandra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
To briefly tell you our story -before we get into Doggizen-, we met back in 2007 on our first day of college in Miami and became best friends since then (luckily our dogs too). We always dreamt of working together and until now we finally figured out that our passion project would slowly become our dream job.
We believe in building a dog-friendly community and creating a place where we could all coexist. Doggizen started as a Miami city guide for dog parents, promoting local businesses and dog-related events. Now we decided to take our content one step further and develop a platform in pursuit of reaching more people like us who enjoy this type of lifestyle.
We aim to make your life -as dog parents- easier, and fun, and show you new creative ways to enjoy everything with your furry loved ones. We seek to keep you informed of what’s happening around you, and tips, and give you the inside scoop on brands that cater to your lifestyle. We hope this space makes you feel welcome and inspires you to be part of our Doggizen community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Working in the pet industry – specifically in the dog field – has many benefits to it, but even though as a society we have evolved to care more for our dogs as if they were humans, businesses such as restaurants, parks, theaters, etc. are still trying to adapt in creating dog-friendly spaces.
It is complicated to find spaces where we can live a fully dog-friendly lifestyle without encountering barriers of entry or rules and regulations that limit humans from enjoying time with their dogs.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Doggizen?
