Hidden Gems: Meet Ricky Salani of OmniHome

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricky Salani.

Ricky Salani

Hi Ricky, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Long story, short–I graduated from ISU and could not land a decent job without experience. I decided that was a sign to start my own business and gather my own experience. It felt like it was the best time to take a risk. The economy had just hit rock bottom from the pandemic and I thought it couldn’t get much worse.

I figured if this didn’t work out, at least I gained the experience and could land a job to regain the capital. So far, I’ve learned a few things along the way that school could not teach. There is nothing like trying to start, run, and grow a business to give you that hands-on experience. It’s not easy and I wear many hats but I feel that we are just turning a corner with the business and have some exciting projects and opportunities in the pipeline.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been smooth sailing. One of the main struggles is hashing out a process that works and produces results. I still think there are a lot of things to tweak and change but I am constantly working on these aspects of the business and believe this will be a constant.

Even when we find our winning formula, market conditions may change and it may not be an eternally profitable formula. Only time will tell but we will be working towards leaning out our processes and maximizing our customer experience.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in renovations and remodels. I originally offered subscription home maintenance services but it wasn’t a profitable business model. Now that I have pivoted to focus on renovations and remodels I need to shift the brand to target that market and stand out while doing so.

What sets this business apart is a personal approach. I put myself in the shoes of every client. I am keenly aware of the trust and faith clients put in me when they award a project. This is not lost and I aim to exceed expectations out of respect. I am honored to serve.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Not really. If you are looking to improve your home or property in any way for any reason, just reach out. I live to serve and would be honored to help.
