Today we’d like to introduce you to Orlany Perez.
Hi Orlany, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into wellness really started with my own healing. In my late teens, I was dealing with chronic gastritis and constant fatigue. Traditional medicine couldn’t give me the answers I was looking for, so I began experimenting with food, lifestyle changes, and a lot of self-education. That’s when I started realizing how deeply our emotions, habits, and energy affect the body.
By my early twenties, I was training as a competitive triathlete and fell in love with the process of testing my limits. I finished top five in my age group at 25, which taught me so much about mental toughness, discipline, and how to fuel the body naturally. Instead of energy bars or powders that upset my stomach, I used dates with almond butter for quick energy and water with sea salt and lemon as my electrolytes. It was simple, real, and it worked. Those small, natural adjustments helped me heal while performing at my best, and they were the spark that pulled me deeper into the world of holistic health.
After triathlon, I shifted my focus to bodybuilding because I wanted to understand how to build lean muscle and refine the way I moved. I competed in bikini competitions, winning first place in every amateur show and finishing top ten in my first nationals. That season taught me precision—how mindset, training, and nutrition come together to create strength and grace.
I’ve always been strategic and hands-on when it comes to learning, so I took everything I’d discovered and turned it into something practical. In 2013, I opened Bodies Studio, one of the first integrative wellness studios of its kind. We combined functional bodybuilding with performance training for cyclists and runners, had an in-house physical therapist, and ran monthly transformation challenges that blended holistic nutrition, strength education, and personal development. It was more than fitness, it was about helping people transform from the inside out.
In 2017, I was in a car accident that changed everything. I spent two months recovering and found it hard to focus or train the same way afterward. That’s when I made the decision to sell the business and dedicate myself to healing again, this time from a deeper place.
Since then, my work and studies have focused on fascia, consciousness, and the energetic side of healing through nutrition. I see wellness now as a living, breathing ecosystem that includes the body, the mind, our environments, and the subtle energy that connects them all.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road, and honestly, I’ve enjoyed every part of the adventure. I believe discomfort is one of life’s greatest teachers. It’s through that friction that we realize something needs to change.
If it wasn’t for the discomfort of gastritis, I probably wouldn’t have become so curious about natural healing. And if it wasn’t for triathlon and bodybuilding, both incredibly demanding sports, I wouldn’t have built the level of mental strength and discipline that became the foundation for everything I do now.
One of the hardest parts along the way was choosing myself over my social circle. That’s something people don’t talk about enough. Growth often means outgrowing certain dynamics or ways of being. But every time I’ve chosen myself, it’s led me to a more authentic and fulfilling version of my life, beyond anything I’ve ever written on a vision board.
After my car accident in 2017, I went through one of the toughest seasons of my life. My joints were in constant pain, and I remember feeling like I was trapped in the body of an eighty-year-old. It was terrifying not knowing if I’d ever be able to move and enjoy my body the same way again. But those years of triathlon and bodybuilding had wired me to keep going, to find a way to win even when there’s no clear map. I had to connect the dots myself, through research, intuition, and faith, and that process became a new kind of sport for me, one that I’ve learned to truly enjoy.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is called Wellness Culture Group Inc., and it’s built around one simple idea: wellness isn’t something we do occasionally—it’s a way of living, designing, and building culture from the inside out.
The company has three main pillars.
The first pillar is my coaching, where I help people create strong, healthy bodies through my framework called Conscious Body Development. It’s about more than training or nutrition, it’s about designing systems that supports your body, mind, and spirit in a way that’s realistic for your lifestyle. I guide clients for 30 days through a process of assessment, integration, and alignment, and we reconnect whenever they need to upgrade their system. Many of my clients call me their Wellness Architect because I help them design a life that feels like it’s working with them, not against them.
The second pillar is corporate wellness. As a Wellness Accredited Professional, I’ve had the privilege of working with companies like Adobe, Dolby, and Deloitte to integrate wellness into their company culture. I design programs that nurture both human performance and organizational health, focusing on practices that enhance mental clarity, emotional balance, and physical longevity. Some of our favorite implementations include biweekly Access Bars sessions for stress relief and Kinstretch classes to keep employees’ joints mobile and resilient. Companies that embrace wellness culture often see up to an 80% boost in morale, leadership, and productivity, it’s incredible to watch how much changes when people feel truly cared for.
The third pillar is real estate and construction, which reflects my passion for wellness design and sustainability. After more than 15 years of research and application, I’ve learned how powerfully our environments shape our well-being. Our mission here is to contribute to a sustainable Earth for the next 100 million years, and that starts with how we build. We specialize in wellness construction, helping people transition to natural pools that create living ecosystems and nourish the skin, install advanced home water purification systems, and design backyard vegetable gardens that bring people back into connection with nature. We offer full building, installation, and maintenance services, with more regenerative solutions being added soon.
At its heart, Wellness Culture Group is about integration, bridging the physical, mental, and environmental layers of life so people can experience true harmony and vitality. I’m most proud that everything we do has purpose, beauty, and impact. We’re not just creating wellness programs or spaces, we’re helping shape a culture that sustains people and the planet.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Yes, I’m an avid reader and love diving into a wide range of subjects, from philosophy and consciousness to health and design. I believe the more perspectives we explore, the more whole we become.
There are many books that have shaped me, but a few stand out. The Spell of the Sensuous is a magnificent book that explores our relationship with nature and perception, it completely shifts the way you experience the world around you. Holistic Medicine and the Extracellular Matrix will change the way you see your body forever. It helped me understand the body as a living, communicating network of intelligence. And Being You by Dr. Dain Heer is a beautiful guide for reconnecting with your inner knowing and choosing yourself beyond external expectations.
When I read, I tend to write down highlights, quotes, and truths that resonate deeply. I also like to live my life from the perspective of the book itself, almost like a personal experiment, so I can expand the content through experience rather than simply learning from the author.
I don’t follow any one podcast consistently; instead, I listen to episodes that feel relevant to what I’m navigating in the moment, whatever provides new insight or inspiration tends to find me at the perfect time.
