Hi Nina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Nina Heck, and I am the co-owner of Sips & Dips Mobile Bar alongside my husband, Raymond. Together, we created a business that combines our passion for hospitality, celebrations, and creating unforgettable experiences for our clients.
Hospitality has always been a part of who I am. I spent eight years bartending at TGI Fridays, where I fell in love with mixology and the fast-paced energy of serving guests. Over the years, I learned that bartending is about so much more than making drinks—it’s about connecting with people and helping them celebrate life’s biggest moments.
My passion for hospitality led me to Florida Atlantic University, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business with concentrations in Hospitality Management, Meetings & Event Planning, and Club Management. I wanted to understand not only the guest experience but also what it takes to successfully run a business in the hospitality industry.
While pursuing my degree and building my career, I was also raising my son, who has Fragile X Syndrome. Being a mother to a child with special needs has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. Between therapies, appointments, school, and everyday motherhood, I was also working multiple jobs, finishing college, planning a wedding, and eventually building a business. There were many long nights, early mornings, and moments when the challenges felt overwhelming, but giving up was never an option.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work some incredible events, including Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, Miami Dolphins games, the College Football National Championship, the Orange Bowl, Miami Open, and major concerts featuring artists such as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Morgan Wallen, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, and Coldplay. Those experiences taught me the importance of professionalism, organization, adaptability, and attention to detail.
In 2024, after planning our own wedding, my husband and I realized how much we loved being part of special celebrations. We saw an opportunity to create something of our own—a company that would help couples and families celebrate while providing a personalized, professional bartending experience.
That’s how Sips & Dips Mobile Bar was born.
What makes our business especially meaningful is that it truly is a family effort. My 17-year-old daughter is an incredibly talented artist and played a special role in helping bring our vision to life by designing our logo. Watching her creativity become part of our brand has been one of my proudest moments. She continues to support and inspire us, and I love that a piece of her artistry is included in every event we serve.
As a family-owned business, we take pride in treating every event as if it were our own. Whether it’s a wedding, bridal shower, birthday party, corporate event, or private gathering, our goal is always the same: to create a memorable experience that guests will talk about long after the event is over.
One of my favorite parts of the business is helping couples bring their personalities into their cocktail menus. From custom signature drinks and personalized menus to unique garnishes and special touches, I love finding creative ways to make each celebration feel truly one-of-a-kind.
Today, we proudly serve events throughout South Florida, from Fort Lauderdale and Miami to the Florida Keys. Building Sips & Dips Mobile Bar has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life because it allows me to combine my education, hospitality background, creativity, and love of bringing people together.
At the end of the day, my greatest motivation is my family. My son has taught me resilience, patience, and determination in ways I never imagined, while my daughter reminds me every day of the power of creativity and passion. Together, they inspire me to keep growing, keep dreaming, and keep building something meaningful.
If my story can inspire anyone, I hope it serves as a reminder that you don’t have to choose between being a devoted parent and pursuing your dreams. The journey may not always be easy, and it may take longer than expected, but with hard work, perseverance, and the support of those you love, incredible things are possible.
That’s what inspires me every day, and it’s why I love what I do.
