Today we’d like to introduce you to Nefertiria Toussaint.
Hi Nefertiria, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Well, I’ll be honest, I knew absolutely nothing about entrepreneurship. I just knew my family couldn’t afford to pay childcare services for three children under three so whatever I did, had to work. There was no other option for me. So in 2017, I took a leap of faith and I never returned back to teaching or my part time job in hospitality that I worked in for over ten years. Crazy right? I know. But, it was the BEST decision I’ve ever made in my life and I never looked back since. Since then, I have started a local food delivery company called “Urgent Drop” courier services which will be back up and fully operational this summer along with “The Bizness Plug” doing business under our umbrella company called FGC Enterprise. I am also the founder of the 20/20 Tribe which is an organization built to enhance sisterhood, business knowledge and faith. I can honestly say that without God, I would not be here and I mean that with every breath in me. These last few years were not easy but they’ve been worth it. In addition to that, hard work and dedication are PRIORITY on my list. Without those key qualities, I would not be not nearly as close to my success as I am today.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
SMOOTHHH????? Oh noooooooooo!!!! Anyone who tells you that entrepreneurship is smooth is lying. I mean we all have great days but let’s be honest, life happens. In the midst of starting my journey, I became a divorced single mother of three beautiful girls. I remember losing it all at one point and I mean that. Home, car finances… everything. But, once again… faith and hard work has me here today with my head held high, my shoulders pushed back and my crown on my head because I was not able to give up. It was not just about me or my daughters but for everyone assigned to me because of my purpose.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has not place in my life. Everything I have is because I prayed and I WORKED MY BUTT off. I remember reading a quote from a gentleman one day that said “Luck” can’t be duplicated… only your planned strategies can”. So for new entrepreneurs if you are reading this, have faith even if it’s the size of a mustard seed and get ready to put in some countless hours of dedication and work.
