Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, I am Millissa Jayne, founder of MJ Digital Productions, a digital media and AI consulting company based in South Florida.
I was born in Birmingham, England, and my career journey has taken me across continents. In 1998, I was transferred to New York, and later relocated to Florida in 2005, where I have continued building both my career and my business.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, I spent over 30 years in the IT industry, including many years as an instructor teaching technology and digital systems. That experience gave me a strong foundation not only in technology but also in helping people understand and apply it in practical ways.
Through discipline, careful financial planning, and a commitment to living within my means, I was able to retire before the age of 50. But retirement did not mean slowing down. It became the beginning of an entirely new chapter that eventually led to entrepreneurship, media production, and writing my book Discipline, which focuses on the power of consistency and intentional living.
After retiring, I began focusing on media and storytelling. One of the early platforms I created was Lauderhill TV, a digital media initiative highlighting positive stories, businesses, and leaders in the community. Over the years, I have also produced multiple digital shows and media projects, working with entrepreneurs, creatives, and organizations to help them share their stories and increase their visibility through digital platforms.
Today, my work continues to evolve as I combine my background in technology with media production and AI consulting, helping entrepreneurs embrace modern tools to grow their businesses.
Throughout this journey, I have remained committed to continuous learning, regularly attending trainings, workshops, and business programs throughout Broward County. The instructors, mentors, and fellow entrepreneurs I have met along the way have played an important role in my growth and have helped shape both my business and my mission to help others succeed.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a perfectly smooth road, and in many ways that has been part of the growth.
Transitioning from a structured 30-year career in IT into entrepreneurship required a great deal of learning and pivoting. While I understood technology well, running a business meant developing entirely new skills, from marketing and branding to understanding accounting and financial management.
Along the way, I invested time in continuing my education by attending numerous business trainings, workshops, and programs throughout Broward County. I have learned from many talented instructors, mentors, and local organizations that support entrepreneurs. Their guidance and real-world insights helped me better understand the business landscape and continue growing as a business owner.
There were also times when I had to pivot my business direction, adjusting my services as new opportunities emerged and as technology continued evolving.
Those moments forced me to grow as both a business owner and a person. They reminded me that entrepreneurship is not about avoiding challenges. It is about adapting, learning, and staying disciplined enough to keep moving forward.
Each pivot ultimately helped shape the business I have today.

My company, MJ Digital Productions, is a digital media and AI consulting company based in South Florida, serving businesses across Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and beyond.

Over the years, I have also produced several digital shows and media projects, helping highlight entrepreneurs, creatives, and community leaders through video and online platforms.

Ultimately, my mission is simple. I want to help businesses be seen, tell their stories, and confidently embrace the future of digital media and AI.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The quality that has been most important to my success is discipline.
Discipline has guided many of the major decisions in my life, from managing my finances in a way that allowed me to retire before the age of 50 to continuing to learn and evolve as an entrepreneur.
Success rarely happens overnight. It requires consistency, patience, and the willingness to keep moving forward even when things do not go exactly as planned. Discipline allows you to stay focused on your goals, continue learning new skills, and adapt when you need to pivot.
It is also the reason I wrote my book Discipline, because I truly believe that discipline is the foundation for achieving both personal and professional goals.
Whether it is building a business, learning new technology, or pursuing a dream, discipline is often the difference between simply having an idea and actually turning that idea into reality.
