Today we’d like to introduce you to Milan Mijatovic.
Hi Milan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Before it was a business, it was a personal shift.
After years in hospitality and nightlife, operating in environments where the pace is relentless and performance is everything, I began to realize something important: we optimize for productivity, achievement, and output — but very rarely for restoration.
That realization didn’t come overnight. It came through health challenges, and through the understanding that sustainable performance requires intentional recovery. Sauna, cold plunge, oxygen therapy, movement — these weren’t trends to me. They were tools that helped me thrive in high-pressure environments.
What became clear, though, was how fragmented wellness felt. There was no single place that blended movement, recovery, longevity, and genuine human connection into one cohesive experience.
SILA was intentionally designed as an outdoor sanctuary where nature meets modern modalities — a space where people don’t rush in and out, but stay, connect, and support one another. A holistic environment that integrates performance and restoration under one roof.
What started as a personal recalibration gradually evolved into something much bigger. As we began shaping the concept — alongside my business partners & friends — people started showing up, helping and donating their time, valuables and expertise. SILA became a place people wanted to be — outdoors, grounded, connecting with like-minded individuals in nature, and simply show up as themselves.
It grew organically into a collective reset.
Very early on — even before our official opening — we hosted the Miami Heat NBA team few times, Pernod Ricard retreat, and Founders Club members-only wellness gatherings. That momentum confirmed something powerful: SILA had become a place where teams and corporate companies come to bond, reset, and perform better together.
Over time, it became clear: this wasn’t just about wellness services. It was about creating a space people felt they were part of — built with the community, shaped by the community.
Because in the end, performance is stronger when it’s supported — and connection creates performance.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building something that doesn’t fit into a traditional category is always challenging. SILA isn’t just a gym, spa, biohacking lab — it’s a social wellness club. And when you create something indoor & outdoor that blends movement, recovery, longevity, and community, people don’t always understand it immediately.
One of the biggest struggles was educating the market. Wellness is often sold as quick fixes or luxury experiences. We were building something deeper — sustainable performance through restoration and connection. That takes time for people to fully grasp.
Another challenge was patience. When you believe in a long-term vision, you have to resist the pressure to rush growth or chase trends. We chose to grow intentionally — letting the community shape the space rather than forcing it.
But every challenge reinforced the mission. The early support from teams, corporate groups, and members who kept coming back showed us that we weren’t building for hype — we were building for longevity.
In many ways, the struggles were necessary. They clarified who we are and who we are not.
And that clarity is what makes SILA stronger today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
SILA Miami is a social wellness club — an indoor and outdoor space designed for individuals, teams, and corporate groups.
Indoors, we offer advanced recovery modalities including hyperbaric oxygen chamber, massages, red light , lymphatic drainage, IV’s and bio-scans. Outdoors, members move and recover in nature through yoga, Pilates, kettlebell strength training, primal movement, and our “contrast therapy” area featuring a barrel-shaped 15-person sauna and cold plunges with outdoor showers.
What sets us apart is the environment.
There are no neon lights, artificial turf, or boxed-in spaces. SILA is open air, surrounded by bamboo and palm trees — a place that feels grounded, real, and far removed from the typical gym experience. A tropical, jungle-like oasis that doesn’t feel like you’re in the U.S.
It’s where people step away from the pace of Miami, meet like-minded individuals, and reconnect. Where teams bond and perform better together. Where movement, recovery, and community exist as one.
We’re proud that SILA feels authentic — built organically, shaped by the people who gather here, and focused on sustainable performance through real human connection.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most is the energy and diversity of the people. You have cultures from all over the world blending together in one city. Add to that the outdoor lifestyle — some of the most beautiful beaches, the power of the ocean, the sunshine almost every day of the year — and it creates something very unique.
I truly believe Miami has the potential to become one of the United States’ future blue zones. The climate, access to nature, and growing focus on wellness give it all the ingredients for long-term health and longevity.
What I like least? Traffic, of course. But beyond that, there has historically been a surface-level culture — heavy focus on image, party, and fast success. A pressure to be seen rather than to build something lasting.
The good news is that we see that shifting.
That era is slowly losing priority. More people are focused on health, longevity, entrepreneurship, and meaningful connection. Miami feels like it’s on the right side of evolution.
And that’s what makes it exciting.
